OH! I totally forgot about A Chorus Line! Love that one. My parents used to be in a lot of plays, and they did that one when I was 7, so I heard the soundtrack constaaantly. Across the Universe is also fab!

i loved reefer madness, rent, hedwig and the angry inch, and rent. wicked is also beautifully done. I don't know how I forgot Reefer Madness! (And Hedwig). Reefer Madness actually got me into musicals. It was my favorite thing freshman year of HS, right after the movie came out. And it's how I met my best friend, lol.

Love Chicago, Kiss Me Kate, and Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella. A few songs I like in Phantom of the Opera, and Sweet Charity too. If they turned OMWF into a Broadway production, I would be in heaven.

Saw Wicked a few weeks ago when they played in Austin (2nd National Tour), and despite not wearing my glasses and sitting way up in the cheap seats (everything was a hazy but beautiful blur), it was amazing. Since then, I've been flipping about YouTube looking for videos... I've decided that Idina Menzel is amazing (plus she's married to Taye Diggs... which makes her very lucky too!) but Marcie Dodd, who I saw play Elphaba is extremely talented too. Her voice was ridiculously powerful, and "Defying Gravity" kinda makes me go all misty eyed at times...

Defying Gravity is such a good song that words are not enough to describe it.

OMG, when Wicked came to SLC, UT, I went to see it too - and I too forgot my glasses and sat in the nose-bleed section - but the entire show was AMAZING. I always listened to the soundtrack but there were so many holes where I was missing the story, so I loved finally knowing the whole story. Can't wait for it to be a movie! Could you imagine if Tim Burton did it? Whoa, crazysauce.

I kinda want someone with more of a stage eye to do a movie, if it ever happens. Somehow, all these really polished movie productions of musicals just lack a certain something that make the stage versions magical.

I've wanted nothing but death and destruction of musicals since I was forced to watch Godspell way back in my younger years. It was H O R R I B L E! lol.
But then Joss came along...

I have this version of Sweeney Todd on DVD along with Tim Burton's version. www.youtube.com/watch?v=npB28d_tKQY I just laugh that Mrs. Potts(Angela Lansbury) is Ms Lovett. Lets see I also love Repo! The Genetic Opera (or as I like to call it Dr. Giles and Mr. Ripper ), Moulin Rouge!, Grease, Cry-Baby (I wish I got to see the Broadway version). I have the cd for Beauty and the Beast on Broadway but never got to see it Cant forget Dr. Horrible and OMWF. Also the Scrubs episode My Musical.

Although it really doesn't matter, I just like to tell people who don't know because those are usually the people who say they don't like opras, when it turns out they like Repo. ETASaw Wicked last night and it was awesome! You can't tell but I just sang that last sentence. Definitely worth all the hype. My only gripe: They went too out of their way to make Elphaba seem good. I get we're supposed know she's not as Wicked as she seems in the Wizard of Oz, but I would like to see SOME wicked in her. I also don't like that she lived at the ending. I dunno. I felt there was too much contradicting of the original Wizard of Oz. But still a great show.

I just saw RENT recently and I was blown away. I watched the movie and listened to the soundtrack for years, but I had no idea how intense the Rock Opera was. Its so pure and raw that it gets you at the core. I loved it so much!!

JEALOOOOUUUUUUSSSSSSS!!!!!! i want to see it more than anything, but the one location in Canada that they're coming to is waaaay too far away for me to go shows i've seen? let's see, i've seen live or performed in: Guys and Dolls Grease Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat Jesus Christ Superstar Annie Oliver (well, we're doing it this year at my school, but it's gonna be HUGE, not a typical high school show. all our shows are. We have the best fine arts program in Alberta) West Side Story (doing it next semester!) ones seen not live RENT (the RENT: Filmed Live on Broadway DVD) Wicked (i FINALLY found a YouTube channel that had the whole thing and i just finished) Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (another YouTube find, but it was an upload of an official DVD filmed version. i'm going ot see it liv ein February though!)
