OMG! I SAW SPRING AWAKENING! I'm pretty sure this is my favorite musical of all time. Each and every song is not only catchy, it also shows every teenage issue known to the world. Its full of sex and angst but all set in the 1890s in a small German town. The soundtrack is full of rock music and powerful lyrics that will surely make you cry. Check out some of their songs on youtube! I reccomend "You're F*cked", "The B*tch of Living", "The Dark I Know Well", and "I Believe". So amazing.

My favorite musicals! ;D - The Phantom of the Opera (The movie was actually better than the musical)
- Wicked (Visuals were AMAZING)
- Young Frankenstein (So sad they closed it down)
- Rent (I never got to see it on Broadway, but I loved the movie)
I love listening to musicals. I've been in choir for years and we've performed Peter Pan, Guys and Dolls, and this year we're doing South Pacific. Other musicals I enjoy the music to are Les Miserables, West Side Story, Mamma Mia!, etc.

my two favorites are still RENT and Wicked, but lately i've been so far into the Wicked space that no one wants to hang out with me cause all i do is talk about it XD.
I've never seen it live, but i have seen it about 8 times, from recordings. I'm actually a video trader, so i have a whole bunch of performances of it. it's not illegal unless i sell them, and there are some really clear almost movie-like recordings if anyone wants to see it!
i know it's awful to film theatre and show it to other people, but in my opinion everyone should have a chance to see the shows if they can't afford tickets!

Recently, I've been falling in love with Next to Normal! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_to_NormalThe music is so intense, and the storyline is totally awesome. I'm thinking of begging my mom to take me to NYC for my birthday to see it (I've been wanting to go see a Broadway play there since before I can remember, and I'd love to catch it while it's still the original cast)! Here's my current favorite song from it, if anyone wants to give a listen: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0auFZ5OVjAk

It HAS to be Wicked- it's just such an intelligent inversion of the Wizard of Oz and Kristen Chenoweth is just sensational
Also I'm ashamed to admit that I have a soft spot for the Legally Blonde Musical

I love Musicals! When I was thirteen my parents took me to see Les Miserables and I've been in love with it ever since.
But my all-time favourite is The Phantom of The Opera. When I was a kid we had the Michael Crawford/Sarah Brightman soundtrack and I knew every lyric to every song before I even really knew the storyline. Then, finally, when I went to London in '07 I got to see it live, it was a dream come true!
I also love Fame (the stage musical), it's so campy and fun!
As far as musicals I've only seen on-screen go, I love Grease, My Fair Lady, all three High School Musicals (the music only, the storylines are utter crap) and, of course, The Sound of Music.

Most of the musicals I've seen have been on screen but I loved most all of them. I did see The Music Man, Chicago and 42nd Street. All great (though I saw a travelling Chicago and a lot of the same people played the same roles with no constume change at all and I found it a little distracting)
I of course love all the popular ones that have come out, Rent, Hairspray, Chicago, Moulin Rouge, and even Across The Universe. Also love Grease and Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar.

I have to come back and reiterate my love for Chess. If you ever have some cash for iTunes, go buy Chess in Concert at Royal Albert Hall. Idina Menzel, Adam Pascall, and Josh Groban. <3
Everybody's playing the game But nobody's rules are the same And nobody's on nobody's side! Better learn to go it alone Recognize you're out on your own Nobody's on nobody's side...!

I haven't seen many 'cos I used to think i hated musicals, and then I saw OMWF and realised I quite like them lol. One's I have seen include Mama Mia, The Producers, Enchanted. I did watch the first few minutes of high school musical but it was so awful I had to turn it off.
