Wind swept through the graveyard like a stake through the heart. The cold mist brought a shiver down Willow Rosenberg’s back.
“Why do we have to do this in a creepy old graveyard?” Anya said in an agitated tone a couple of graves away. “I’ve told you about a million times,” Willow replied, “the spell has to take place in an area full of mystical energy. Now will you please shut up?”
“Its not like it’s going to work, its only ever been done…”
“SHUT UP!” Willow said.
“Come on honey, it’s worth a try.” Xander calmly told Anya. “We need all the Wicca goodness we can get and who better than…”
“For the last time, SHUT UP! I’m trying to concentrate.” Willow screamed at the whole group: Anya, Xander, Spike, Tara, Dawn - who should have been at home - and Riley.
Willow cleared her mind of her surroundings, of her friends and family, her thoughts and feelings. All her senses were cut off, and nothing else existed, not even the world around her. There was nothing but one powerful force.
The powerful energy was pulsing inside of her, growing stronger and stronger as she continued her spell. It was feeding her, giving her everything a mortal could ask for, power that is rarely felt in human bones and belongs in Gods. This is the feeling that should never end, the feeling of a lifetime cut short and no matter how many times you try to get to get it back it seems different.
Willow froze in the middle of the spell. The energy was hers and only hers. Nobody else could feel what she felt and Willow never wanted it to end, but it was too powerful, she had to break free before it was too late.
“Break through the barrier of reality and TV, bring forth the power of three!” Willow gasped as she finished her spell.
The energy that Willow had once grasped burst free from within her. It pushed its way through the graveyard as a green, powerful light. Mist grew and grew until Willow could not see her hands pressed against the grass as she collapsed.
As the mist faded the group went running to Willows side.
“Are you okay?” Xander asked.
“I think she’s dead.” Anya replied to Xander’s question, which was clearly for Willow.
“Yes, I’m fine.” Willow replied as she stood up with support from Xander. “Are they here? Did it work?”
“Were not sure,” Riley answered. “We couldn’t see anything through all the mist”.
“I knew not to do it in a graveyard,” Anya whispered.
“Can you ever keep your opinions to yourself? We’re trying to save Buffy and all you keep whining about is the misty graveyard.” As Willow was scolding Anya, a woman’s voice interrupted.
“Are you Willow Rosenberg?” the voice said.
“Yes.” Willow replied as the three young women walked towards her. “We knew you would call us. Where do we start in helping your friend?”

Once back at Buffy’s house, Willow had many questions to ask Paige, Phoebe and Piper, also known as the Charmed Ones.
“How did you know I would call you?” Willow asked Piper.
“The Elders told us,” Piper replied.
Willow was about to say something, but then realised she shouldn’t. Willow remembered that if the Charmed Ones found out that they didn’t belong in this reality then they would return to their own. They didn’t know that they were fictional characters; they thought they belong here and Willow needed them to believe that until Buffy was saved.
That reminded Willow, she should explain to the Charmed Ones what had happened to Buffy.
“So, you’re probably wondering why we called you here.”
“Well I am,” Paige answered. “The Elders told us it was because your friend was in trouble. They said that your friend is a very powerful force of good and needs to be saved.”
“Yeah, that’s Buffy, a big bundle of goodness,” Xander said.
“Dawnie, I think it’s your bed time,” Tara said.
“Okay,” Dawn said and jumped to the stairs. All this talking bored Dawn; she knew that they would let her know if they found a way to save her sister. “I wonder what Buffy is doing now.” Dawn whispered to herself.
“Four days ago Buffy went to hunt some vampires, as she does. One got away and she ran after it, as we ran after her. And then it happened. Buffy just disappeared in front of our very eyes.” Willow told the three powerful witches.
“It seems as though she ran through a portal, which was of course invisible to her, which led her to another dimension.” Giles finished.
“Well that’s easy enough for one witch to take care of, just call her from the reality she is in, why the need for us?” Phoebe said.
“Problem is we don’t know which reality she is in,” Giles began, “Willow tried a lot of spells herself, and she has found the appropriate spell. It will basically bring Buffy to her, from any dimension, as long as the spell is cast correctly. That is why we needed the power of three. The more magic we can get the better. It’s a pretty powerful spell.”
“So what are we waiting for?” Paige said cheerfully. “Let’s go cast the spell”.
“It has to be cast during a full moon,” Willow replied. “That’s tomorrow night.”
The night passed quickly. The moon rose, the moon set and the sun rose. It seemed like only a few hours before Willow’s tired, aching body woke to a fresh, healthy new day.
The day passed quickly too. Breakfast, college and the Magic Box, all the usual activities for the Wiccan friend of a Slayer. It wasn’t long before the sun set once more and the group gathered at the magic box for a trip to the graveyard.
There they all were: Giles, Xander, Tara, Anya, Riley, Piper, Phoebe, Paige and Willow. Spike was at the house looking after Dawn.
Willow, Paige, Piper and Phoebe sat in a circular shape, fully surrounded by candles. The bowl of ingredients sat in the centre and it was time to start the spell.
“Artemis, Goddess of the hunt and of night, bring forth my lost treasure,” as Willow began the spell, the Charmed Ones joined in.
“Bring us the essence of good, fighter of evil. Bring us protector of this world, bring forth Buffy Summers.”
Multicoloured light blasted around the four witches, a circle of light surrounding them which reached the sky. The light disappeared in an instant, to reveal nothing but the ingredients bowl that was once surrounded by Willow, Piper, Paige and Phoebe.
“Where did they go, what happened?” Xander shouted, worriedly.
