I saw this movie last night and it was more creepy to me than jumpy scary like you see on the previews. I was kind of ready to be hiding behind my hands scared. It was a good movie though for only costing 10,000 to make. I was kind of getting annoyed with the very very very very slow start, but it was definitely worth it to see the last 30 minutes. That Katie was creepy as hell. I'm not going to lie though I was spooked for the rest of the night

The ending was the worst! I really felt for Katie the entire movie, but by the end I just felt hopeless and endlessly scared for her safety. Epic movie.

There are a couple of different endings to this film, I've learned. The original version and the theatrical (wide-release) version have two different endings, and the original film has another scene that replaces a scene in the theatrical version. (Confusing, right?)
Anyway, I just watched the original version with my roommate. It reminded me of the time I played Silent Hill 2. If you ever get to play that game, you should... with the lights off and the door closed. Like SH2, this movie is all about the psychological fear. It just keeps building and mounting until the very end. I can't get over how extremely good this film is. LOVE IT!

I just saw this movie tonight. This was the first scary movie to ever get under my skin like it did. I really enjoyed it, but now I'm finding myself unable to sleep, even with my dog in my room. Damn, I did not think it would effect me this bad. I'ts just the ending that really got to me.

I BOUGHT MY TICKETS TO THIS... me and my friends are going to a midnight pre-screening (in Aus) on halloween...YAY! Like I've said elsewhere on the forum, Australia doesn't really celebrate Halloween - but me and my friends want to, so whats about a super scary movie at the witching hour to mark the occasion

i wonder if all three endings are going to be on the dvd? don't read the spoiler if you don't wanna know the ending(s)... 1. The ending for theatrical release has Katie killing Micah and then throwing his body at the camera and sniffing it and lunging at the camera. 2. the ending on the DVD screener, which is what i saw because my cousin worked at the film festival where it premiered in 2007, has Katie killing Micah and then she just comes back to their room and sits there for like 2 days until the police show up and then she is shot. 3. the other ending is Katie killing Micah and then walking into their room and slitting her own throat. i, personally, like endings 1 and 3... because ending 2 was really anti-climactic.

I think I bought into the hype too much, because I didn't find it as scary as I'd hoped, but this was still a great movie. For $10,000, this is pretty freaking genius. Loved the whole setup, and both characters were great. Still extremely terrifying though. I was freaking out when Katie got dragged out of bed and down the hall. That was one of the scariest things I've seen. Good, scary movie... but I'll be sleeping sound.

i agree 100%, hitnrun... it, for me, didn't live up to the hype, but that scene you said had me freaking out. and the fact that the movie already made something like $32.7 mil so far and it had absolutely no budget was amazing. i'll be excited to add it to my dvd collection.

So apparently, there's an urban legend in the making for this film already.

I've only seen the first ending, which is the theatrical release one. From reading the endings, that seems like it was the best one.

I prefer the first ending over the theatrical. You can see it here[/u][/url]. It's long and less scary, but it's just so tragic and fit in more with the style of the entire movie. Also pretty neat to see more of the demon, maybe playing games, like leaving her body when the cops came, and slamming the door right before Katie was shot. The theatrical ending was just so cliche with the lunging at the camera and CGI, it took me out of the movie, definitely one of the low points. Think I read that Spielberg made them change it. Why? I have no idea. Dumb decision. Hope we can choose an ending when it's released on DVD.
