I prefer the first ending over the theatrical. You can see it here. It's long and less scary, but it's just so tragic and fit in more with the style of the entire movie. Also pretty neat to see more of the demon, maybe playing games, like leaving her body when the cops came, and slamming the door right before Katie was shot. The theatrical ending was just so cliche with the lunging at the camera and CGI, it took me out of the movie, definitely one of the low points. Think I read that Spielberg made them change it. Why? I have no idea. Dumb decision. Hope we can choose an ending when it's released on DVD.
Why did I click that link? Now I'm all scared again. Lol. I didn't like that ending very much.To me it felt anticlimactic and with this kind of movie it's all about the build-up. I'm sure they'll release all the endings on the DVD though. :3

This was a pretty good movie. It was original which is a rarity in the horror genre nowadays. Wasn't as scary as the previews made it seem, but it definately had some creepy scenes. Really glad it kicked Saw VI's ass this weekend. It's about time that shitty franchise got taken down a notch!

I odnt understand how people even remotely find this frightening. I thought it was really overhyped. It wasn't even remotely frightening nevermind terrifying.
There were some parts I enjoyed and the ending was ok, but it still doesn't make it any good. It was pretty boring to be honest.

I think it was smart and innovative, especially considering the amount of money they spent on it (almost nothing). It was scarier than any "Saw" movie or other piece of torture porn that is so popular in the horror genre. For once a movie played on our most simple fears of the unexplained instead of playing off our basic fear of death.

So I'm glad it did beat it out. And I do prefer this movie to those, but I just dont like the fact how it was so overhyped and people saying it was ''the scariest movie ever'' or of the year etc. It was a dissapointment for me and alot of people who were expecting something really terrifying and we got this.... I do applaud the effort, especially for such a cheap film, but I still don't think it is that good.

I do applaud the effort, especially for such a cheap film, but I still don't think it is that good. For me, personally, it scared me on a psychological level. This, and one other indie British movie called "The Last Horror Movie" were the only two movies that have ever scared me in my entire life (okay, ET scared me when I was 2 lol). This movie had me paranoid after I left and left me thinking "Holy crap! That could happen to me!" And that's always scary to me. They did a good job with the realistic dialogue and hand-held-camera style film, because that's what helped give it "This can happen to you" feel. It also helps that I actually believe in that kind of stuff, haha. Blood, gore and all that other stuff in horror movies doesn't scare me. It just bores and annoys me, actually. But this kind of movie terrifies me. And lurchibald, the last section of the movie is the most interesting/scary part! >.<

My friend was terrefied after watching this. And the best funny part is that he thought now, these things is happening in real life. (No offence intended to the believes, I am one). So when we start walking towards my building, he looks around like something is gonna' come out of the woods. I almost laughed. I did, inside. hah! Then he starts telling me "It's real, the couple in the movie are real". I looked it up on wikipedia. Oh.. Directed by-. It was just a movie Hm, I'm gonna see it! Don't know when but I want to.

Just saw it. Scared me. Everytime it became night, I just sighed and was like "soo scarry". I actually yelled "OH MY GOD" at the end. The end was the best. So scary. So worth it.
