Is it just me, or is there a significant plot hole in the Time of Your Life arc? In Fray, it was revealed that all magics and demons were banished from Earth long ago, but Willow was still able to survive all those years?
Maybe she was sent to a different dimension with the vampires and demons and came back to our dimension with them centuries later, but that doesn't sound quite right to me.
What are other people's thoughts? Has anyone else ever noticed this?

It will most likely be something we have to infer once season eight has ended and we know what happens to magic if it even still happens what with buffy knowing the future to some extent and being able to change it.

Well we know that not ALL magics and demons were actually banished. Vampires are still around (albeit in lesser numbers), Harth is able to summon the flying dragon thing, Urkonn is clearly not human, etc. Willow could even be the reason that magic isn't fully banished, who knows.

I think it's not that they're still around, but that they came back. That's why the Slayer line was reactivated with Mel after 200 years of inactivity. Vampires, magic and demons were banished, but nothing is forever.

I agree with you andrew, but then maybe that means willow is the cause for its return savign up just enough juice to restart magic maybe.

I thought it was interesting how there was such a light show when Buffy killed FDW with the Scythe. It leads me to wonder whether there was some sort of conduit being created there to let magic flood back into the world full-force, and that's why Willow manipulated Buffy into killing her.

It would be very indicative of the role willow is going to play in all of this magic banishing business.
