I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the full-page Buffy Season Eight ad in the Dr. Horrible comic. It introduces Brad Meltzer and says something like "Her life is about to change forever..." Also, there is artwork I've never seen before of Buffy and Twilight. Since it had Meltzer's name on it, I thought maybe it was the cover to #33...but it is neither Jo's nor Georges'. Does anyone know what this is?

Perhaps you could scan the ad for those of us who haven't bought it yet. Might help with discussion.

Link didn't work for me, but I have seen the ad. I have no idea who did the artwork, but I'm assuming that its just an ad to get people hyped for he big climax of the season. I'm sure that readership have dropped off since the first few arcs.

Link didn't work for me either. Jellymoff, here's a thread on estimated readership, issue by issue.

Link didn't work for me either. Jellymoff, here's a thread on estimated readership, issue by issue. Thanks Rebecca! It looks like they've lost about 40,000 since issue #1, but I am sure that some of that is skewed by collectors that don't necessarily care about Buffy and ones that bought multiple covers for the first few arcs and started to run out of money. Still, a significant drop.

Sorry. I don't think I can make it work.

Do a PRINT SCREEN of the whole screen (Press the Print Screen button once), open up MS Paint, or any image editing program. Paste, crop it, save it. Upload to tinypic, then post it!

I actually meant I couldn't do it because I forgot the comic at my apartment and would be at work for several more hours. Here is a picture I took of it with my phone. It is only the artwork. I will try to take a pic of the whole page later. I'm sorry I didn't do this from the start. I just assumed everyone would have seen it in "Dr. Horrible." Here is the link in case the one I put on the top is too big. i49.tinypic.com/96gb6g.jpg

I think that's an image of Twilight that we've seen in one of the early arcs. I think it was one of the last pages on LWH or TOYL.
As for the Buffy, it totally looks like Jeanty's work!

The Buffy is Jeanty's, and so is Twilight. Look at the last page of "NFFY Part IV". Same image.

Thanks for hosting the pic for us It definitely looks like some of Jeanty's work only re-inked. Very interesting feel to it. I'm totally with you there, Emmie. 'Bout time, I say.

Still, a significant drop. Looks like patience is a big factor as numbers have been dropping pretty steadily. Maybe Joss's longawaited return will cause a spike again though. I'll certainly be happy to have him back.

So it's all just re-inked and retooled stuff from early arcs? That's cool. It just looked so strange and unfamiliar.
Has anyone else who picked up the comic formed an opinion about what it might mean? (Like, the phrasing....) I need to get the full page up here. I'm sorry it's taking so long--I'm just always at work.

The style reminds me of the Alias comic covers.

The Twilight image in this ad, as has been said, comes from the end of NFFY where he's talking to Lt. Molter.
The Buffy profile is from issue #29, in the panel where Willow says "Buffy knows it! Don't you know it, Buffy?" and Buffy says "I know something like that..."
