After continuously even to this day debating in my head what that scene meant to the both of them I have came up with a official answer. I truly believe that Buffy would never say I love you unless she means it. I mean all through season 6 and some of season 7 she flat out always had no problem saying that she didn't love. That was until I think mid-way through the season.(End of First Date, Touched and End of Days.) So, anyway yes I think she meant it. Although with Spike I think he actually thought that she was just saying that cause he was dying. Which I always thought sucked because I didn't want him to die thinking that, but then again the fact that he thought that made his death more noble and selfless. So I voted for the first one although from Spike POV its different. This is exactly to a tee (tea? t?) how I feel about the situation. I did struggle with it, but Buffy just doesn't throw the L word around. Actually she more often avoids even if she feels it. Therefore to me it wouldn't make sense that she would say it if she didn't mean, even if he was dying, it's not like she wouldn't be able to think of anythign else to say that was true yet still comforting. I also agree that I think he didn't really believe her, I think he wanted to but he didn't. A part of me likes the idea that she said it so she could move on but just because it makes me sad that Spike would die and not know she is telling the truth, however if I'm being honest with myself, he didn't believe her.

I'm actually going to go in a slightly different direction with my little review here. First however I will say that I thought the episode was totally boss, however I do understand people not quite connecting with the Echo/Paul ending. I wasn't against them, but just sort of indifferent, so I didn't feel as much as maybe I could have, but I thought it was sweet.
however my absolute favourite thing was that Alpha was evil anymore. I didn't really like the statement that a person at their core could be 'evil' so him not being evil anymore was something I absolutely loved seeing. It made sense that there would be a little part of themselves that wasn't lost, but not that their 'soul' is evil, so the fact that he could change made me really happy.

Well yes, but it sort of falls down to who's good and whos evil. I understand what he says when he tells him that "She was a slayer, I was a vampire, that's how the game is played", but vampires kill people all the time because its their nature, 'fair' fight or not. If he feels guilty about everyone else, why not her? and more importantly even if he doesn't feel guilty why bite robin? Especially since initially he was intending to kill him and simply changed his mind.

I really liked a lot of what you put in, and if you think you're no Joss Whedon, you're on your way as he uses a few of those plotlines himself in Season 8, slightly tweaked of course.

So I rewatched "Lies My Parents Told Me" the other day and for the first time it really bugged me that Spike bites Robin near the end. Spike walks around like he doesn't care about the things he does but we know deep down he does care and it comes out in certain moments, but this one I'm having difficulty understanding.
So far all I can come up with that makes me feel even a little better is maybe him wanting to once again hide how guilty he felt. Like maybe he felt so bad about killing Nikki and having to face her son that he just wanted to prove once and for all like he didn't care (even though he did)?
I was just wondering what you all thought? Is this a good analysis, is there something I'm missing, or is Spike just a dillhole? lol Let me know.

Okay, I can't give a specific source, but I knew about the William Pratt thing and it wasn't from the comic it originated from as I have never read it (Sorry), it was actually I'm quite sure in an interview that I read with Joss Whedon. It was awhile back so I can't give a link to where I read it, but I'm pretty sure someone asked him the last name and he went with Pratt. Maybe he didn't come up with it but I was under the impression he didn't mind.
Now to be fair if I hallucinated reading this interview you can shun me but I did know about this long before this thread and I wouldn't read an interview of a guy when I didn't read his comic so I think it was Joss.

Okay, I'm so glad someone has a thread on this because I was rereading my comics the other day and I did notice that in the time loop not only is Spike in future Fray looking times, but he's holding the slayer scythe, it's been driving me crazy, what does it mean??? lol

Yeah I got Buffy and Spike have a baby, when the truth is I usually avoid baby fics. I tend to like highschool fics even though I'm out of high school, lol. Also a little buffy student, Spike teacher action. (What can I say I'm taboo). And sort of random others, but I avoid baby fics like I avoid Biley/Ruffy

I think people make a lot of great points for why it makes sense that its Angel, however to me, the biggest question is why would they reveal it so early? I just can't wrap my head around why they would put it on the cover and show that cover way before its released. I don't think it would be unfathomable for it to be Angel, but in Dollhouse Alpha wasn't revealed until the bitter end and it was so close mouthed up until that point and its not like they revealed it in the trailer. I don't know Joss just doesn't seem the type to "reveal it in the trailer" so to speak

Real name? Jessica
How old are you right now? 21 years old.
What do you study/do for a living? Study film in University
Place you are from? Kitchener, Ontario
Place where you live now? Toronto, Ontario
How old were you when you watched your first Buffy episode? 12 or 13, it was junior high
Did you like the show right away or did it take time for you to get into it? I had seen bits and pieces before I saw it again in Junior High, but I didn't really have an opinion. Then I saw a full episode and thought it was hilarious, and then fairly quickly I became obsessed...I think everyone thought it would be a phase, or at least the obsessed part would, but apparently not.
Do you remember the very first episode you watched? I feel like it was Reptile Boy, but I can't guarantee anything
When did you first realize you were getting addicted to the show? Within the first couple of months of watching it. I was watching re-runs at that point on Space and wasn't caught up yet, so I made sure I was home to watch it every night because lucky for me the re-runs were on every night
Were there any other specific times when you felt like your interest for the show kept increasing, even to a point where you could no longer control it? I still feel like I can't control it sometimes
Do you feel like the show ever jumped the shark at some point over its seven years of running? No, anything I didn't like at first I've grown to love, like Dawn...however there have been a couple of things in the comic book I haven't grown accustomed to yet...lets see if I do
Which character gave you more laughs overall? Oz, Anya, Xander and even Spike occasionally. They're the ones that really make me laugh
Was there a character you really couldn’t stand? Anya at first (Don't throw things at me) and both Dawn and Kennedy when they first came too. However as I said before, they've all grown on me, Kennedy not as much as the other two, but I'm not chanting "Kill her!" over and over again anymore so that's improvement
What is your favorite female character? Buffy is always my favourite for some reason...followed closely by Faith, and for some reason Tara...they don't seem to have a flow to them, but they make sense to me.
What is your favorite male character? Spike, Xander, Oz, Jonathon and Andrew
What relationship did you “worship” the most? Buffy/Spike. It took me awhile to get it as I was originally a Bangel shipper like most...however once I jumped on the band wagon I never wanted down, and there I sit to this day.
Buffy’s soul mate? don't believe in soul mates, though perhaps Angel but I still like her and Spike better, I just think they didn't get their chance.
Willow’s soul mate? never been able to choose. Tara or Oz both were very special and important and I don't think even Willow would pick one as her soul mate over the other.
Xander’s soul mate? I will go with Anya
Which death touched you the most? Joyce probably, however when Angel died it messed me all up too, and Jonathon actually just about broke my heart
What is your favorite season and why? I have no idea, never been able to pick. Today I'll say it's season 7. tomorrow who knows
What season did you enjoy the least? when I first watched it season 4, but now I love so much of I find I watch it just as much as the others, if not more
If you had to rank the seasons? today....7-5-6-3-4-2-1
What is your favorite big bad? Probably Angelus, Spike and Dru
What is your favorite episode finale (or final arc of a season)? The Gift or Chosen, for entirely different reasons
What is your favorite fight? Buffy and Faith in Graduation Day, or maybe Buffy vs. Uber Vamp in Showtime
Do you have one favorite episode? Dude I have no idea, but I will say that right now I feel like watching Graduation Day, both parts.
Finally, what would like to add? What’s so special about BTVS? Everything
Do you enjoy the Season 8 comics? Not as much at the show, but it's way better than nothing

Could someone possibly make me a dollhouse banner? One preferably including the shot of all of them at the end of "The Attic" with some sort of inspirational quote from the end of the episode?
I also wouldn't mind a Spuffy one as well, but whatever is possible.

dudes, its sheep will but it didn't fit so it's now a contraction "Sheep'll". Grammatically speaking it doesn't make sense if its sheeple and I just don't think they would make that distinction since it means the same thing either way.

All I have to say is this episode, along with most of this season has rocked my world. To be honest, since the 6th episode of the first season I haven't been very disappointed at all. I can't believe they're canceling this show.
I loved the attic. The idea of is so interesting, and that Japanese guys worst nightmare freaked the hell out of me too.
I did think that the final scene was a very classic round up the rebels, Joss Whedon moment however I thought it was a good one as I was sitting there practically cheering and wishing I didn't have to wait for the next episode. All in all I'm giving this episode a 10.

This whole Xander/Dawn debate is interesting. It's raised a lot of points and lots have to do with age. To me it wasn't weird because Xander is older than Dawn, to me it's weird because after Dawn got over her crush it seemed like they had settled on a older brothery sort of relationship and I find it very odd to see that turning into something romantic...
However to be fair I hated Willow/Kennedy and both Anya and Dawn as characters when I first saw them, so maybe I'll grow into it, but for right now, and I hate to say this because I bow down before all things Joss (especially Dollhouse lately, hot damn!) but it kind of feels like lazy writing. It creates more issues for Buffy and it's hard to introduce new characters in a comic with already established well-rounded characters so why not just put two of them together? I could be totally wrong, like I said, I might grow into it, but it just feels wrong somehow.
