"The Gift" -by far.
I've said it before, I'll say it again; this should have been the final episode.

Xavin is an "it", plain and simple. I don't really think it can be settled one way or another. I haven't read the issue yet (I buy my comics on Saturdays) but I assume you're talikng about the scene in the preview, and yes, that was cheap. The way I see it, Xavin is a male Skrull who shifts form to a human woman because it's what Karolina needs. He's sort of a reverse-beard. I realize it's Brian K. Vaughan's attempt at introducing a transgendered character, but didn't he just introduce a transgendered characeter?

I just picked up the issue, and I hate to say it, but the story's up and gotten away from him. There are too many characters, too many seperate narrative threads and the art is servicable at best.
And Whedon's whole resolution of the Xavin gender-swapping? Cheap, cheap.
His (that's right, his) real self is the Skrull.

I'm thinking Twilight's an incorperal supernatural force/being/thingy. Whoever is under the mask is just the "shell" as Illyria would say.
That being said: you know who I think's under the mask?

Um, hey, you sure seem like a nice guy. Joss isn't an arrogant prick. I normally am; I had a bad day. As I said; he's a great writer. His personallity doesn't matter in the slightest in regards to his artistic work. Some of the greatest writers and artists in the world have been egomanics and total wankers. He's in good company.

I miss Amy and Warren too. I wanna see some more Warren vs Willow. She should give him skin back and then rip it right off again. Like 20 times. Ehehehe... I normally hate retcons, but Warren's return had me cheering. Willow's no longer a killer (Did I mention I really, reallly, really, really hate Dark Phoenix Willow?)

Wait a minute; what? Make sure you leave some Kool Aid for the rest of us next time. MB x Once again I say something that makes total sense to me and comes across as insane/sociopathic to eveyone else ;D I love Buffy. I hate Joss Whedon. I hate the way he treats his characters and his audience. I think, personally, he is an arrogant prick. He also one the best goddam writers and creators in the world. My love for the one balances out my distaste for the other. I'm guessing that made even less sense that my intial postion. PS-I don't need Kool-Aid; the insanity is ALL ME BABY!!!!!

Well...
Don't mean to brag...
....but this issue has kinda confirmed everything I previously said about Buffy and joy and characters' lives never getting better.
So, I've come to a decision....
I'm sticking with it.
Because in the end, I LOVE Buffy and Willow, Xander and Giles and all the rest.
Because, no matter what I think of the man, Joss Whedon is one of the best goddam storytellers in the world.
Because, as a good friend pointed out, this world still has a stranglehold on my attention after eleven years.
Because in the end....I f***ing hate Joss Whedon and I will not let that f***ing bastard win by driving me away.
If by season end, the core four are all smoking meth and all their teeth are falling out, I'll still be there with a smile on my face.

That's exactly what I meant...lol. And who is to say that Willow NEVER had any sexual interest in Buffy? Being that close, living in a dorm room together when she was questioning her own sexuality, she had to at least think about it, if only briefly, or to wonder why she did or didn't. Holla at me, Girlfriend! This is my entire arguement for Buffy and Willow (and I quote Paul Reiser). It's naked. It's fun. And I agree with both of them. And of course, I don't expect it to happen.

I think this whole thing rides on Willow and her say on this.
Supportive? Jealous? Bit of both? '
I bleed Wiffy.

I feel so bad for Willow. She MUST be at least a little heartbroken. I'm sure that at some point, she had a thing for Buffy. Or even if she didn't...the fact that Buffy kept this part of herself secret from her...and decided to experiment with Satsu, probably felt like a knife in her back. Only pushing Willow further away. And that is my concern. But I'm biased. I can't help but think Joss is going to lose a lot of people on this.

BISEXUALITY people, look it up. Looking it up won't change the fact that Buffy is an established straight woman. But carry on amping up supposed homophobia because people don't like characters acting out of character. I enjoy it. Okay. Let's nip this kind of talk in the bud- RIGHT NOW.

If anybody DESERVES a happy ending in the Buffyverse, it's Willow. I mean, come on...she's such a good kid. Always has been. At this point we must disagree. They ALL deserve happy endings. No one character more than any other. It seems that the Buffy/Satsu hookup is getting its desired affect...I think Whedon did for no other reason than to get folks worked up. Buffy'll be back to boys by issue 16.

I'm still trying to put my cerbral cortex back together after seeing that page.
There's joy, dread, and disappointment (in it not being whom I wished to be), but a whole lot of admiration too. Bravo, Joss. Bravo. And a sneaking suspection that Joss just did it to screw with us.
Would it be really terrible if Buffy had a loving, sexual relationship with another woman?

"Objects in Space:" the best episode of television Whedon has ever written (along with "The Gift" and "A Hole in the World.")

Mal; quite possibly the most complex character that Whedon has ever created. Also the most charismatic, and, in the end, the most heroic.
