I completely understand that , but the group implies that you have to be larger to have curves and vice versa (you can be 100 lbs and still have curves, and you can be 300 pounds and still have no shape). And, like you said, I don't condone puting down other groups. It's like Whitney, the first plus sized model to win ANTM, and she always said stuff like, "I'm a real woman because I'm not skinny. I dont have the body of a little boy like skinny women." And this kind of stuff, while not said in the media, is said on the streets all the time. And I have a problem with people claiming to be confident when they aren't. If you love your curvy body so much, you wouldn't have to talk down to skinny women. In other words, I think they're just being haterz. It'd be better if the group said, "Curvy women are amazing." Or something. I have to agree with you TGIQ. I am naturally thin but am lucky to also be a little bit curvy as I am not very tall, but I get sick to death of reading articles and hearing people say things like woman aren't 'real' women if they are thin, and magazines picking on those with thinner frames saying they have disorders, yet women who are curvy are beautiful and applauded. People also think it is perfectly fine to come up to me and say 'god aren't you skinny/slim/thin' and think it is okay to do that. If I went up to someone and said 'god aren't you fat' it would be deemed totally unacceptable!!! Someone once asked me if I was anorexic, which really upset me. I said no, and then they asked if I was on drugs then as I was so skinny!!! The group being talked about would be acceptable to me if as TGIQ has said it didn't pick on thin people. We can't pick on bigger people as it is socially unacceptable, so why can we be picked on and unable to be upset about it? I completely agree that it isn't fair that either side is belittled or judged. But it happens. And I have seen both large and small women in tears over people's comments about their size. The thing that ticks me off the most though is the fact that society has created this duality for women. Its not enough to simply be yourself. You gave to try to fit into this little bubble they have created. I just know that as an average sized woman (along with about 90% of the female population) I'm tired of opening magazines or watching television commercials and seeing these size zero women everywhere. I'm confident with who I am. I just wish the media would be more well-rounded in their portrayal of women. Especially for our teenage girls who haven't quite gained the self-confidence or security to say "I don't have to look like that if I don't want to." And I wish the plus sized women would drop the attitude. I know you are "large and in charge" (to quote one of t hem . . .can't remember who though). But do you have t throw around so much attitude and belittle everyone who is smaller than you? Once again, can't we all just get along? I hate how the media pits women against each other the way they do.

I can't believe I forgot about Perfect Strangers. I loved that show as a kid. That was when TGIF was the best thing to watch on a Friday night, with Full House, Perfect Strangers, Family Matters, and the other show has slipped my mind. But that was our Friday night ritual.
And I feel ashamed of myself for forgetting Dark Angel. And I watched bits and pieces of Felicity too, but never did get a chance to watch the whole series. I'm just glad I can still catch episodes of Gilmore Girls in syndication. Another I just remembered.
Karma for reminding me of great shows.

1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer 2. Supernatural 3. Angel 4. Bones 5. Chuck 6. Psych 7. Criminal Minds 8. Pushing Daisies (still upset about that show getting canceled) 9. Firefly 10. I would be remissed if I didn't go old school at least once on here. Loved MacGyver growing up.
Will probably revise this list later.

I'll have to explain some of these cause you'll be like "What?" But here's a few, cause I'm a crier when it comes to movies.
Up and within the first 10 minutes at that. The Notebook Toy Story 3 Boo Hoo-ed during part of this one. We Are Marshall movies based on true stories always get me, if the story is sad The Fox and the Hound when the old woman is taking Tod off to the woods to drop him off. I think I was 5 or 6 when I first saw it and cried my eyes out. Casper when the dad was a ghost and Christina Ricci was all upset over it and pleading with him to come back Marley and Me Where the Red Fern Grows Steel Magnolias Bella I think I cried the first time I saw Armageddon And that's all I can think of off the top of my head, but I know there are probably a lot more.

Oh, yeah. I was all about Unsolved Mysteries too. I loved that show.
As for Looney Tunes, I was more a Speedy Gonzalez fan. He was the fastest mouse in all Mexico, you know.
And I completely forgot about the Beetle Juice cartoon show. I remember seeing a few episodes here and there.
And I can't believe I forgot about Scooby Doo. That was my all time favorite cartoon when I was little. I know it still comes on, and they are making new episodes. But you can't beat the originals. They were the best, even though they were reruns when I saw them.
And He Man and Ninja Turtles. The original cartoons of each. Not the remake they tried to do a few years ago. I had all the action figures, which I think broke my mom's heart because she really wanted me to play with dolls and Barbies, but I couldn't stand those.
Man, I can't believe all these cartoons slipped my mind before.

Well, the fireworks were a blast, but about half way through them my son decided he was ready for bed. Poor guy. I guess he was wore out from all the anticipation. But he did get to see a lot of really cool ones before he went off to bed.
I am dreading the clean up in the morning though. That isn't going to be fun at all. Buts its the price you pay for pretty shiny flashes of light.
AF, I can't wait for the big day. You guys are going to be so cute together. And I'm so honored to be apart of it all. ::sniff sniff:: Its all just so beautiful

I know. I really wanted to do another Buffy-bot one after getting that one, but I thought it would have been too obvious.

I don't know. I just feel creepy commenting on whether Taylor was hot with his shirt on or off. He's FAR too young for me. lol. Now Emmitt, on the other hand, quite hot!!!!!
Watching Aliens in the Attic with my son for the second time today. He loves this movie.

The "curvier women are better than skinny woman" group on facebook. And the fact that many of my friends joined that group. If you have to put down another group of women to make you feel better about yourself, then it's obvious you are insecure. Not cool. In their defense, society perpetuates a beauty myth that says everyone who isn't skinny and beautiful is less of a person. There are a good number of shows and movies that make fun of overweight people, and no one seems to have a problem with it. Look at how many times we put an actor in a fat suit, make fun of him/her, then show how much more glamorous their lives are once they lose weight. I'm not saying any group should put down another group. I'm just saying that no one ever seems to have a problem making fun of overweight people, but when people pick on skinny people, its another story. Can't everyone just get along??? OH . . . I CANNOT believe I have failed to mention my biggest pet peeve of all. Although I am really not sure if you could consider it a pet peeve. Its really more than that . . . drum roll . . . I HATE the fact that women still only make $0.75 for every $1.00 men make. I want my quarter, thank you very much!!!

watching Hoodwinked with my son. He is so anxious for the sun to set so we can shoot off fireworks. He's been wating for several days for this, seeing as he has been asking ever since we bought the fireworks 3 days ago.
Hope everyone is having a pleasant day.

^^ Does Robert Pattinson not look like a young Christopher Walken? Or am I the only one who couldn't stop thinking about that all through Twilight. I mean, I've seen all the movies so far cause I have this weird obsession of finishing something I start (even if I don't want to). SO, since I read the books and saw the first movie, I've had to see all of them just to finish it. I know, slightly OCD, but I digress. I've seen all of them so far, but in the first one especially I kept thinking, "So this is what Christopher Walken looked like in his twenties"
Okay had to do a little rant.
Watched Sky High with my son tonight.

I will be checking my in-box regularly.
And I am right there with you guys about the whole cat lady thing. I may have a son, but the significant other aspect of the family unit doesn't seem to want to fall into place. Thought it would with his father, but, lets just say he made Spike in "Seeing Red" look like a wus (or however you spell it) I've pretty much been single ever since I was pregnant with my son, and he'll be seven this year. So, I know the woes of love lost and struggling to be optimistic or just give up.
But enough about my sad little past. Here is some Karma to help prepare you for the duo. I will be thinking positive thoughts and sending them your way!!!

I wanna hurt you, but I can't resist the sinister attraction of your cold and muscular body.
I love Buffy-Bot!!!! ha ha ha.
Okay, my turn . . . ummm, I'll be back to modify this shortly. Have to think of a quote . . .

EWR, you do not suck. None of that crazy talk here!!!! And you have to listen to me, because I am the site M.U.M. now. PJ, sorry you didn't make it to the park itself. Hope the trip was still great. Dru, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better about the situation. Still here if talking is needed. Eric and AF, I can't wait for the big day! I'm so excited!!!!! WhiteCandy, I am so jealous of your figure. I have wanted that one for ages but, like you, its been out of my budget. I for one don't have any major plans for the US holiday tomorrow. We always just hang out as a family and then shoot off some fireworks. My son is so excited about that part. He's been begging to shoot them ever since we bought them Friday.
