I am up to ep 4 or so, it's a really good show, not on the leave as other supernatural teen drama's eg: Buffy, Roswell, but it is getting there. Still much better than um... you know.

Also I think the reasons that they give for not killing Damon are really lame. It’s like how they never killed Spike. eg: he has a chip, he can't kill us, he help's us ... all that buill shit stuff.

I love The Vampire Diaries it's not as good as Buffy at all but it's still amazing the last episode "Unpleasentvile" was brilliant and it's good how it ends on a cliff hanger and you can make up your own theories as to what happened.

I dont agree with the characters are like Buffy characters Angel & Stefan are nothing alike.
Same with Elena and Buffy?

Also the cast just got better as Sean Farris has joined + the Kathrine Flashbacks are awsome. I kinda hope Kathrine does get realeased from the tomb because then it'll get interesting to see what happens.

I just watched the 13th episode online (missed it last week) and there's some things that bother me. One thing that's been bothering me for the entire course of the show is that they're in Virgina, but not one person has an accent? Not one? At all?

And why exactly are there Asian women running around a hundred (or whatever) years ago in the South freely and no one seems to care? I'm rather confused.

I got that, I just don't understand how the non-vampires are so accepting of these Asian women. It makes no sense to me >.<

Because the vampires have special rings designed so they can go out in the sunlight (abit like the gem of amara except they can be killed) and her and Kathrine have thoose rings.

So of course nobody know's they are vampires untill Kathrine feeds off Stefan who is fed Irvane which is dangerous and exposes Vampires.

And to help Kathrine the Asian women gave herself up to them.

^^Sorry, I've been all unclear and stuff. I meant racially, I would think back then (especially in a small town in the South) someone would not be so accepting that there are Asian women running around as free as any white person. I think they were treated way too equally. Unless they put the vampire trance mojo on the town...which I guess they did? o.o

Minorities weren't widely accepted in the South until roughly the 1970s, and that flashback took place waaay before then. Heck even now in a few small cities down South, they aren't accepting. Sad, but true.

Also, I think you're right about the Mr. Salvatore thing. If he liked her, then the others would have accepted her more, I think.

I have to say Thursday's episode was amazing. And so sad! We now have to wait over a month for the next episode. After they had that cliff hanger and everything!

Snap! So Kathrine wasn't in the tomb. I sort of saw that coming. Kathrine is such a douche. She played Stephanie and Damon like fools and then left her friends in the tomb to rot for for eternity. I can totally see Damon killing Kathrine in the end though. It fits. Dude, Sheila Bennett done told Damon. lol. That was pretty sweet. I wasn't a big fan on the cliffhanger ending. He' probably just the dude Kathrine tricked into letting her go in exchange for turning him into a vampire. I just don't see him adding much to the story. You know? I also though Ben's death was pretty lame. Yeah, he was set on fire but so what? He's a vampire! He can always heal. *sigh*

Yeah, it truly sucks that we have to wait for over a month before we get another episode. Didn't The Vampire Diaries just get back from going on hiatus? Sheesh. And I feel you on Jasmine Guy. Maybe Bonnie can resurrect her by using Emily's spell-book? I mean, that scenario playing out is highly unlikely but there's always hope. I became a fan of hers after Rogeuh got me into watching Dead Like Me.

I never thought in a million years that I would like this show, but its growing on me... like cancer. *dies*

I hate the way you have to swait for Vampire Diaries.

I love Kathrine she;s totally awsome. I think Damon will kill Kathrine and he'll try be better to get with Elena since she looks like Kathrine.

But since Elena isn't a gilbert i think it's going to end up that Stefan or Damon is her farther which would be totally werid :S

I was sad when Ben died. I liked Sean farris.
And yeah the Grandma dying was totally sad it kinda reminded me of Tara's death in Buffy when Willows like i can fix it ill bring her back

I LOVE the Vampire Diaries. I know it's no Buffy but that doesn't matter to me. I think it's a really good show. All the characters are getting really interesting. Plus I have a thing for Ian Somerhalder. Haha.

I do think Damon might try to get with Elena but not only because she looks like Kathrine (which is a total skank-face). Elena is loyal, strong-willed, and is not afraid of Damon. All qualities in which Damon likes... me thinks. She's not a pathetic bimbo like Caroline.

No, I highly doubt that Stephanie or Damon is Elena's father. I'm starting to think that Alaric Saltzman is Elena's father. After all, his wife Isobel, is the same name of Elena's biological mother. And they both went *poof*. Coincidence? I think not.

Plus, I liked Ian's work as Boone(On Lost). And his character Damon seems cool.

You definitely should watch The Vampire Diaries. In no way does it even compare to either Buffy or True Blood. I'll be honest, it does take a while to get into The Vampire Diaries as the story starts off slowly for the first couple of episodes. Slowly but surely though, things start to progress.

I was really liking where Anna and Jeremy were going, so I hope that she doesn't just fade into the background now that she got her mother. You could tell that she actually did kind of like him.

Also, am I the only one that's bugged by the fact that like every black person is a witch? This is coming from someone who generally isn't that politically correct, but it seems almost like subliminal racism. Not that extreme of course - I don't know - it just kind of bothers me.

P.S. On the Asian woman deal in the flashbacks. Considering that I think the time period is set around/near the American Civil War, so mid 1800s, it is pretty historically inaccurate, I think (don't know the race relations between white people and Asian people at the time, I mean they weren't slaves, but I doubt they were treated with respect). The only explanation I can think of is that she's passing off as a noblewoman from another country and isn't claiming to be an American.

Yeah, I also believe that Anna has feelings for Jeremy too. Like mother like daughter, I suppose (they fall for Gilberts). I guess we'll find out the verdict on if she'll stay or not during the next episode 'A Few Good Men'.

Just re-watched There Goes The Neighborhood. Another great episode. I was bummed that Bonnie, Jeremy, and Tyler didn't appear in this episode. Tyler disappears a lot, probably due to his own storyline which will get explained late on (all those who read the books should know what I'm talking about), I'. so glad this show is back from hiatus and thankfully we won't have another break for the rest of the season. I'm curious as to why Isobel commanded that dude to kill her best friend. To tie up loose ends? Anyway, I'm glad Pearl and Anna haven't left for good. Looks like they're planning something. Probably revenge on the town or on Katherine (I prefer Katherine because she was the reason they were imprisoned in the tomb in the first place).
