Did anyone wish we'd seen more of Kit and Carlos?

In the first episode of Season 7, it almost seemed like Kit and Carlos were being set up to become Dawn's version of Willow and Xander, and then we never saw them again. I keep thinking it might have been nice to see those characters developed a little more.

I mean, I'm not saying I wanted them to become the Scooby Gang Junior and start going off on their own little adventures with Dawn -- 'cause that would have been a little too cutesy -- and I also don't know where that character development would have fit in, since the season was pretty packed. But it would have been interesting to see more of them after the first episode.

Nope. I liked her second group of friends more with Cassie, and uh, cute boy who liked Cassie and who's name I can't remember. I always thought killing off Cassie was a mistake. Buffy has constantly had messages about choice and how it is our own choices which empower us, so I thought it was really stupid and contradictory to one of the main themes of the show to kill her off, cause it was her "fate."

I totally agree with lightandmagic, Cassie would have been my vote for a regular character. I also think you are spot on with the "fate" issue being a contradiction. (Karma)!

At first I thought who in the hell is Kit and Carlos. Then I remembered. I think it would have been nice if Janice had been around more for Dawn, but as far as Kit and Carlos goes . . . no.

I'm not so sure if I would've picked Kit and Carlos, but it would've been nice to see Dawn have more interaction and develop friendships within her own age group.

For everyone who thinks Dawn was too whiny and annoying, I think her comeback to that might be something like, "Well, my sister won't let me hang out with her and her friends, and the writers refuse to give me any friends my own age, so here I am, all by myself. How would you react?"

I could not have handled any more Cassie, so I'm just so glad we never saw her again. Her friend Mike was okay, once you got past that hair. The weird thing to me about Kit and Carlos, and also the zombie-ghost-raising talisman in that episode, is that in the audio commentary Joss almost seems proud of the fact that none of them were ever mentioned again. Like it was a funny trick on the audience, a great bit of misdirection. If so, I don't really get it...

I just have to say, I've have always wished Kit and Carlos could have stuck around more. Them along with Dawn would have made a dynamic mini-scoobie group.

I'd prefer it if Janice had followed Dawn to high school.

I wish Cassie hasn't died. Would have been nice to see more of her. Janice, too. We never saw Kit again after "Lessons," but Dawn was on the phone with her in "CWDP," so you get the impression that they still hung out.

I'm with El Diablo Robotico - if I had to hear Cassie utter one more line, I'd tear my ears off. I've never seen anyone so unmotivated by the prospect of her own death. She gives the speech outside her house about how she really does want to live, but does absolutely nothing to avert her death. Instead she just passively waits around for it to occur. She really couldn't think of anything better, like leaving town maybe?

I'm pretty sure she does say Kit's name. She asks "Kit, is there a storm?" or "Kit, are you there?" but I don't remember what it is specifically.

I'm not too bothered about seeing them again really. But they could of appeared in the episodes "Him" and "Help" since there's a few scenes with Dawn hanging around the school.

Wasn't there another friend that Dawn had besides Kit, Carlos and Janice? The one that's too short for her to hang out with? Melinda!

I don't know if I cared enough about Kit or Carlos to really wish for more of them in Season 7, or to even remember their names. However I would have loved to see Dawn interact with more kids her age, whether it was the two you mentioned or other kids like Janice, Mike, Amanda or even RJ. There was no need to have them play major roles, but Dawn just felt a little isolated in Season 7. Dawn kind of got the shaft when the Potentials hit town.

i think it was nice that kit and carlos reminded me of the original scooby gang, but i don't think it would have been necessary for dawn to have her own little scooby gang. i think it would have been beter to see her more with her friend janice.

But seriously, maybe Dawn doesn't know how to keep friends. Over the course of the show, she's had:

*Janice
*Melinda
*Carlos
*Kit
*Cassie
*Cassie's friend
*Girl from "The Body"

None of them have really stuck around. lol
