I really hope that the TPB trade color for Twilight is yellow or gold.
I NEED yellow on my shelf! Long Way Home - Red No Future for You - Blue Wolves at the Gate - Green Time of Your Life - Purple Predators & Prey - Light Teal Retreat - ....Brown
So I hope that this one is yellow.

So can we change the icon for the TPB from Buffy's shocked face to this gorgeous piece of art (I think that it's my favorite of all Jo Chen's pieces due to how evocative it is)?
I think the cat is truly out of the bag now.

Solicts are just out, so we have both date and colour. BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER SEASON EIGHT VOLUME 7: TWILIGHTBrad Meltzer (W), Joss Whedon (W), Georges Jeanty (P), Karl Moline (P), Andy Owens (I), Michelle Madsen (C), and Jo Chen (Cover) On sale Oct 6 FC, 168 pages $16.99 TPB, 7" x 10" Buffy Summers and her Slayer army have suffered heavy losses throughout Season Eight and faced scores of threats new and old, but the one mystery connecting it all has been the identity of the Big Bad—Twilight! In this penultimate volume of Season Eight, New York Times best-selling novelist and comics writer Brad Meltzer (The Book of Lies, Identity Crisis) joins series artist Georges Jeanty in beginning the buildup to the season finale in the story line that finally reveals the identity of Twilight! In the aftermath of the battle with Twilight’s army, Buffy has developed a host of new powers, but when will the other shoe drop, and will it be a cute shoe, or an ugly one? Still reeling from the losses of war, Willow goes looking for missing allies, and discovers a horrifying truth about several of the Slayer army’s recent ordeals. Adding to the mayhem is the unexpected return of Angel, in his Season Eight debut! This volume also features two stories from series creator and executive producer Joss Whedon! • Collects Buffy Season Eight #31–#35, and the Willow one-shot.

Hmmm I like it but it seems a bit spoilery for those who might not know (and I do know one person who is in the dark because she's not a big internet surfer).

I'll never understand some of the decision DH has made on this title. So many people read this series through the tpbs, why on earth would you spoil the biggest goddamn mystery of the whole series on the front cover?

It's not that big of a spoiler. All it tells is of Angel's return to the comics. Doesn't necessarily say how.

Yeah, I think if someone was reading the series through TPB they would put 2+2 together pretty quickly. I think it's a bad move to have Angel on the cover, but they probably were looking at the marketing benefits of the image. It may draw some interest to the series that wasn't there before.

Definitly, adding Angel was a smart move, but they didn't need to put them in that pose. It's kind of like with the TOYL TPB cover, with Dark Future Willow which was also a mayor spoiler, whereas the other covers are pretty spoiler free. They could so easily have made the covers just as neat, and probably just as well selling, without the spoilery element.

Erm... you were supposed to be spoiled back in Issue #33. The trade isn't supposed to be your avenue towards being spoiled. I mean, if all you were doing is reading from the trades, then by the very argument, we've been spoiled about Dracula being back, the return of Dark Willow, the return of Oz, and now the return of Angel looking kinda evil-smug.

Trade paperbacks are supposed to have long shelf-lives, though. People will hopefully still be discovering them years from now. For instance, I'm just now plowing into TPB series that have been around for 20 years or more. In most cases, I didn't get spoiled because I didn't frequent message boards devoted to them, or look at the Wikipedia pages, or anything.
"Ambient" spoilers are unavoidable in such situations if you go looking for them, but putting them right on the book covers is not really a great idea IMO. If somebody in, say, 2020 starts reading the Buffy Season 8 series and looks at all the volume covers, he'll pretty much be able to figure out right from the start who Twilight is.
I guess the question is, does it really detract that much from the story if you know Twilight=Angel right from the beginning? Hard to say.

I would hate finding out at the start who the secret villain is. All the characters's would be going around "Who is this guy?" and I would know. And while I was reading, I would be thinking "I would be so excited to find out who Twilight is right now, if I hadn't looked at that damn cover". That's 32 issues of excitement, lost.

I went and picked up my TPB of Twilight tonight and I've already finished it. It was a great read. I knew who Twilight was because I accidentally spoiled myself on Wikipedia when I was trying to look up info on when the TPB came out awhile back. I honestly don't know whether or not I would have put two and two together to think that Angel is Twilight based on the cover. I have to say I'm dying with how the Twilight arc ended. I only read the TPB so I'm going to be dying until Last Gleaming comes out. It'll give me time to catch up on Angel Season 6 though and Tales of the Vampires is coming out at least in January.

They added the Twilight symbol to Riley's chest in the shirtless scenes. I think I was the one who pointed its absence out to Scott, so yay me.
I only skimmed it, so I haven't noticed any other changes yet.
