Title: You Found Me
Summary: AU Season Six. Tara helps Buffy recover after being resurrected. The two form a connection that no one expects.
Pairing: Buffy/Tara (Eventual)
Rating: T (To be safe, I don't expect too much badness)
Author's Note: Literally, I am writing it, then publishing it here so bear with me. Oh, and Willow's a little OOC. I prefer to see it as Willow's goodness degenerated faster in my universe. I need a beta too! If you are a big W/T fan, then you might wanna reconsider being my beta though.
================================
“I can't believe you want to go through with this!” yelled Tara.
“I can't believe that you're trying to stand in my way!” Willow fired back. “What we are trying to do is save Buffy from eternal torment! We-”
Tara interrupts before Willow can finish, “You know that's all I've been hearing these past days! 'We'! 'We need to save Buffy.' ''We are making the best choice here.' we, We ,WE!” Tara finishes those last words by yelling at the top of her lungs, eyes blazing at Willow.
After taking a few deep breaths, Tara continues, looking straight into the redhead's eyes, “This whole 'We' thing Will. It just sounds like a whole lot of you.” Willow looks guiltily at the ground, breaking eye contact.
A moment passes, then Willow whispers, “How can there be any other option Tara? Buffy may be out there suffering like Angel did!” Willow looks up at Tara, tears streaming down her face, “How can I just stand idly by if my best friend is being tortured?!”
Tara softens at the sight of her lover's tears, but still remains wary, “Sweetie, we have absolutely no proof that Buffy's soul went anywhere horrible. You and Xander are assuming all of this.”
“It doesn't matter if there's proof! Even if there was a .001 percent chance that Buffy's soul was in a hell dimension, I would still go through with this resurrection.”
Tara sighs for the billionth time this week. This had not been the first fight between her and Willow, and she knew it would not be the last. Tara knew wholeheartedly that messing with the laws of nature by resurrecting Buffy could be brutal and dangerous, and she just couldn't bear to have Willow risk her own life on such a gamble. It seemed sudden that Tara was finding her voice to talk back, but she knew what had brought it out. After Tara regained her sanity during the battle at the Tower, it was almost like a new sense of self awoke in her as well. After having to wander alone in her own mind, lost for what seemed like an eternity, Tara knew that she had been weak for too long. Soon after, little spats between her and Willow began to surface, and bringing an unnatural resurrection into the equation was not helping their relationship at all.
Tara's brought out of her thoughts by Willow's voice, “Okay. Maybe there is a way we can check on Buffy's soul. If we find her and she's in a hell dimension, then we can help her out.”
“And if not?” Tara asks hesitantly.
The redhead sighs and shakes her head in annoyance, “If not, then we won't go through with it. Happy now?”
Tara looks thoughtful for a moment, then replies, “Yes. Now lets get started researching right away!” Tara walks out of their bedroom, planning on stopping by the Magic Box to see if they have any references.
Will rolls her eyes at her girlfriend's enthusiasm, and says to herself in a deceptive tone, “Yeah, right. Whatever you say sweetie...”
