Has anyone watched the trailer for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions? I'm not huge on Spider-Man, regardless of the medium, but I've got my eye on this one. For me, Batman: Arkham Asylum really set the bar not just for comic book games, but for non-movie licensed games in general. Let's hope SM: SD lives up. THE TRAILER.

Random musing... you know how people are always complaining that games are too short? Not me, ever. My issue with most RPGs is that they can take upwards of 100+ hours before you feel accomplished. The thought of having to clock those hours, and possibly not even get the main plot (assuming that the side quests take up the majority of game hours) distresses me. A good 20-30 hrs of gameplay is usually all I can stand.

A good 20-30 hrs of gameplay is usually all I can stand. I had this fear. I'm no RPG expert, I've only played the one, but it took me exactly 60 hours to finish Final Fantasy XIII's story, and I didn't do any side quests I didn't have to. Five of that was probably just farming money, materials and XP. A lot of time? Yes. But the plot and characters never let up. I was on the edge of my seat with excitement throughout. I mean, there were 10 hours of cutscenes. Maybe that's just Final Fantasy XIII, but if most RPGs have that amount of story and character development to get invested in... I think I might've just found my new favorite genre. It felt like a major accomplishment just finishing the story. Now all the side quests are just fun bonuses.

A good 20-30 hrs of gameplay is usually all I can stand. Mass Effect 2 took me about 22 hours to finish the main story and a few side missions. That's including doing the loyalty missions which you don't have to do (but not doing them means your crew will die). It's a very short, very amazing RPG. You can continue to do the side missions afterwards if you want to, unlike on the first Mass Effect. hitnrun017 When did you really get into Final Fantasy XIII? I gave up when I got to that frozen lake. But one day when it's very, very cheap I might pick it up again and play through it. I heard it's pretty much linear until 30 hours in, which many other Final Fantasy games aren't. I can't believe I never played FFIX until now! I absolutely love it. FFVII will always hold a place in my heart, but if IX continues to be this much fun it might overtake FFVII.

I got into FFXIII pretty much immediately. The battle system is so good. I didn't really care about the linear structure of the game. You're still advancing the story, fighting everything and collecting treasure like every other RPG, just in a straight path.

Thought I'd share this with any Batman Arkham Asylum fans. It appears the have had a sequel planned since before the first Arkham Asylum was released as in the game there is a hidden room in the Warden's office.

It's cool that it took so long for people to find the hidden room. The sequel is one of my most anticipated for 2011.

I was looking through some LP's and I thought this was pretty funny. I've never played Max Payne through properly, so I never knew about this. To see the "cameo" go to about 4:30 on the timeline.

I can't believe they are making another one! I am swearing off Pokemon for good this time. I don't care if they make the game with all 500 pokemon in it at once. The pokemon database has become so huge, that the kids can't remember all their names anymore!!!

Good thing we're not kids. ;) Personally, I'm interested, but I'm probably just going to wait for the inevitable Pokémon Gray, LMAO.

I like the names. This is the first that colors have been used since the good ol' days, right (Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver)? IMO, those were the best games, so we'll see how this turns out.

^ Good luck! They're achievable, but annoying. Especially the "complete the majority of the game with this certain crew member" ones. Even though I completed the game twice I only got the one for Ashley because I didn't know I couldn't do the main mission before everything else. I used Wrex with Ashley but completed a few missions without him. Thankfully they got rid of the stupid achievements for 2.
