I'm not really into 3D either (although I haven't tried 3D gaming), but I'm really interested in seeing how this turns out. If Nintendo follows their previous pattern of their handhelds having similar hardware to their past consoles, then the "3DS" should, more or less, have the power of a GameCube, which is also what the Wii has.

Don't know how I feel about Final Fantasy yet. All I've done is watched (insanely beautiful) cutscenes and had a bunch of battles. Rinse and repeat. It lacks so much charm. I think I'll take it back and swap it for Mass Effect 2 cos I KNOW that game is the business.

Right now I'm trying to play Metroid II, but I don't like it much.
EDIT:
I just killed my first Alpha Metroid. (:

Played about 5 hours of Mass Effect 2 and I'm in love. God, this series is so good. I was able to import my first Mass Effect playthrough which was great, because I swore I overwrote that file.
I loved finding out Yvonne Strahovski, Tricia Helfer and Micheal Hogan were in the voice cast. That just added to the awesome.
The only problem I have is that the text is sometimes too small for my 14 inch screen.

Amazon is offering a $20 video game credit when you preorder Super Mario Galaxy 2 and I don't think I'll be able to say no to that. It comes out late May, so I should be able to use my birthday money as my birthday is in late April. I was planning on using it on 3D Dot Game Heroes, which I fell in love with upon seeing it's trailers, but a free twenty dollar credit towards another purchase is too hard to pass up, especially when SMG2 is undoubtedly going to be good. I think I might actually use the credit toward 3DGH or an older, cheaper game which I still haven't picked up. I was thinking I could use it for Metroid: Other M, but the credit expires after a month and Other M comes out a month and a few days after SMG2! Urggh.

Oh wow that's awesome! Unexpectedly, I want a lot of games coming out soon. SMG2, Red Dead Redemption and 3D Dot Game Heroes being the biggies. I just literally found out what 3D Dot Game Heroes actually was the other day and it looks like an amazing throwback to retro gaming, and I loved the 2D Zelda titles.
I'm going to have to take Amazon up on this offer.
EDIT: With the credit, 3D Dot Game Heroes will only be $16.99. EPIC.

It's pretty awesome, right? A little bit more info, if anyone else is interested: - Amazon is also offering a $20 credit on Halo: Reach, which comes out in the fall.
- Credits are given out a day or two after the item ships. (You can't preorder, get the credit and then cancel the preorder.)
- Credits expire after a month.
- The credits are only for other video games
- Walmart is also giving $20 gift cards for Reach and SMG2.
- Unlike Amazon's credits, Walmart's gift cards can be used on anything from, yes, video games, other media like DVDs and Blu-Rays, or regular stuff like groceries.

Hmmm I may go with Wal Mart then, so I can use some cash if I have it available and won't have to wait for shipping.

All of the Super Mario Galaxy 2 talk has put me in the mood for the first, so that's what I'm playing now. (:

The thing that I find sucky with video games lately is that all the multiplayer is all online...which is something I don't have and probably never be able to get. Having online multiplayer takes the fun out of having a friend around and just playing on the same console together. Also, me having no online capabilities takes the fun out of games for me, like Alien vs Predator, for starters
And who here has played Dante's Inferno? Pretty cool game if you ask me

i agree what i am hating about PC games now is (as with Assassins Creed 2) for a single player game they require you to have a constant Internet connection.

And who here has played Dante's Inferno? Pretty cool game if you ask me Dante's Inferno clones God of War, and it clones it well, but at the same time, when I was playing the demo, all it made me want to do was play God of War. I found it inferior in every way to that series.

Finished Mass Effect 2 today and finished the game with every crew member still alive. I played for almost 11 hours straight which is probably very unhealthy. I think it blew the first Mass Effect apart in almost every way.
Mass Effect 3 can't come quick enough.

Decided to pre-order both Red Dead Redemption and Super Mario Galaxy 2 at Amazon, which will give me $30 game credit. So I can then get 3D Dot Game Heroes for, oh $7. ;D

I preordered Super Mario Galaxy 2 the other day on Amazon. I'm pretty excited.
Right now I'm playing Plants vs. Zombies. Gotta love it.

I'm playing through Final Fantasy IX at the moment. Just saved Princess Garnet from the castle.
Let's save, Kupo!

Apparently, Nintendo is ditching the hub world in Super Mario Galaxy 2 and opting for a map-like interface such as the ones in the 2-D Marios. I really didn't like the hub world in the first SMG, but I think I'd rather have an improved hub world than none at all. I loved the hubs in Super Mario 64 and Sunshine because you could explore them and find new worlds and easter eggs. In The Observatory all you did was run from one world to the other. Not much fun.

I found it inferior in every way to that series. I have never played the God of War series. While playing Dante's Inferno, I did find the circles of Hell very interesting. I like how they had put some thought into how each circle should look

Just finished Final Fantasy XIII. A lot of hesitation and doubts going in, but I immediately fell in love with the gameplay, story, characters and world. I got so invested, more so than any other game I've played, just didn't want it to end. First video game to make me cry? Yup.
Straight up 10/10. Probably in my Top 3 list of favorite gaming experiences.
