Mine has to be season 5 , Glory/Dawn. This plot is incredibly darker then the previous seasons also the themes were seriously unpredictable. It was thrilling to watch especially Spiral when Buffy discovers the true nature of the key and the purpose, which is that Glory's plan to use Dawn's blood to open a portal and return to the dimension from which she was banished. Glory as a big bad went deeper into the mythology of evil we have a god. Glory "Glorificus" is a God from a hell dimension to which she ruled alongside two other gods .Glory's lust for pain and vengeance grew, as did her power and she quickly became the most powerful of the three in the dimension. which was thrilling that Gregor example her true nature.
GREGOR: "Along with the beast they were a triumvirate of suffering and despair. Ruling with equal vengeance. But the beast's power grew beyond even what they could conceive. As did her lust for pain and misery. They looked upon her, what she had become ... and trembled." It was really entertaining this plot, but which is your favorite plot and why?

I really loved the third season arc with Faith and the Mayor.

Mine has to be season four's The Initiative. The whole idea that there was this huge army with all their technology underground and nobody knew about it was pretty cool.

I'd have to say Season three as well. I loved the dynamic that Faith and The Mayor shared. It was incredibly sweet, but still entirely evil.
Hm, actually I'd have to say my favorite story arc of the series is Faith's arc. She went insane and now she has to redeem herself over and over again to the people that once trusted her. She's become such a weighted character and I love it!

Although it's not my favourite season, I would also say Season 3. It had one of the most involving plots for all of the characters and seemed to twist and turn so unpredictably. The relationship trauma for Xander, Cordelia, Oz, Willow, Buffy and Angel is also very intriguing. Then there's Faith. And the Mayor. Awesome.

I loved season 5's plot.....having Glory a frickin' hell god as a Big Bad and introducing Dawn was very cool.

I agree, season 3 has a really great plot, with an rogue slayer and the mayor. but for me season 5 matched the quality level beyond that , it was so dark and the mythology of evil was great. Also i like season 7 plot until the Turok Han died.

It's probably the most consistent. I also thought the foreshadowing of the Big Bad (The Mayor) was the best the show ever had. There were hints dropped in S2 and at the start of S3 that the Mayor was in on the wackiness in Sunnydale. It was in my opinion flawless in regards to pacing. Whereas S5, for example, had pacing issues because Glory was introduced too soon so all she did for a bunch of episodes was sit on her ass and bitch about Buffy.

Her bitching was quite entertaining though Although she kicked Buffy ass , that was entertaining, finally we have a big bad that make us wonder that the scoobies cannot win. Obviously they did but when you watched it, it makes me wonder that the scoobies can't win. And half the time Glory was Ben.

Her bitching was quite entertaining though I did find it entertaining mostly but I still thought it took too long for them to clash. You're absolutely right. Obviously they did but when you watched it, it makes me wonder that the scoobies can't win. And half the time Glory was Ben. I did like that part. That a sacrifice absolutely had to be made at the end if they were to win, there was no way around it in the end.
