Hey everybody, I don't know if most of you guys already knew about this, but I thought it was pretty neat and wanted to share it for those who maybe didn't know about it. Anyway, For Valentine's Day this year, my husband bought me a loose leaf herbal tea blend inspired by Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It came in a 4 oz tea canister that has a picture of Buffy and Angel on the front. Here is the link: www.adagio.com/signature_blend/blend.html?blend=1945
The tea itself contains a mixture of blood orange and chocolate chips (there are actual chocolate chips and orange slices within the blend). Let me just say that this tea is really tasty! It has a nice, subtle flavor without being too overpowering, which makes it a perfect tea to drink morning or evening. There is a nice flavor of blood orange, with just a hint of chocolate. The website is Adagio Teas. Here is the link for anyone who is interested. www.adagio.com/?SID=2d941c9abeea024afef532ea39826889
There are also other Buffy character inspired teas, such as Spike, Faith, and Vamp Willow. Just do a search for Buffy the Vampire Slayer on the site. There are also Doctor Horrible and Captain Hammer Teas, as well as blends for each crew member of Serenity. I think it's really neat that this tea company is making blends inspired by the Whedonverse. They have many non Whedon varieties as well, and you can also go on the site and create your own blend for purchase. Follow them on your twitter account and receive a $5.00 off coupon code. They have an official FB page also.
I know I will definitely be making purchases from this company in the future, for both Whedon and nonWhedon blends. My Buffy tea blend combines my love of two things: Buffy, and herbal tea, what could be better?! It serves as a great companion while watching Buffy, or for relaxing in front of the TV at any time. I would definitely recommend this tea to any of my fellow Buffy lovers, or to anyone who is an avid herbal tea drinker like myself. Try it, you won't be sorry! I definitely look forward to trying some of the other Buffy/Whedonverse blends.
Question, though. I think I get why they used the blood orange, but why the chocolate chip? Whatever their reason for concocting this blend of ingredients, it sure is a tasty combo. What do you think inspired their selection of ingredients? What would you put in your own Buffy blend?
