Personally i think this season is great, but i think it went downhill after the Turok Han died. This season has to have one of the best beginning in any season. With the whole introducing to the first was incredible dark and it was brilliant to use Spike as one of the first puppet of manipulations. The mythology of evil has grown once again we have the first which it claimed to be a source and embodiment of all that is evil, but to me the first was interesting but i thought it could have huge potential of being the biggest bad of bads. The character development was still great, we have great characters which to relate as big bads. Turok Han, they are a race of ancient powerful vampires stronger and fiercer than the regular vampires, which i found interesting. Caleb was introduced later on which for me made the show back onto the quality road, his character was brilliant. Creepy priest. I found the fight scene in this season were actioned packed and more brutal. The imaginations side of having potential slayers was good , but for me the only problem was that their didn't do any explanations on how many potential arrived , their just appeared in each episode. I think the development , for me anyway , thier should have done it better.
Character development, 9/10 Storyline. 10/10 fightscene 9/10 Thrilling 9/10 Overal 9/10
Great season,but some flaws.

Certainly my least favourite season & there are some episodes I haven't watched & maybe never will.
I liked one of the early eps where Willow visits Tara's grave,it wasn't a fun scene but at least Willow got some closure.
The episodes that feature Caleb are the only ones I've watched more than once,I thought he was a really strong character (and not just physically!). I had trouble watching Robin Wood beat up on Spike, especially as it was instigated by Giles. As much as that ep fills in the blanks in Spike's backstory it left a nasty taste in my mouth watching Wood suit up for battle. Spike may have had an evil past but he did fight along with the Scoobies in the later seasons & he didn't deserve that & I was disappointed in Giles' behaviour.
Of the ones I have watched Touched irritated me 'cos I never liked Kennedy & I took exception to her relationship with Willow.

Personally I thought Robin wood storyline with spike was interesting, the back story was very unusual. Finally we have a history on a slayer, that spike killed and the slayer (Nikki wood) have a son but we didn't know it was Robin wood. To me it was a perfect plot. Robin wood was just achieving revenge, which i understood so it made it more epic, because I would the same thing. I agree. Caleb was one of the dark characters in this season, which to me I thought his character was very brutal and bloody scary I just wish he appeared early in the season.

I like season 7, but there's way too many plot lines that are introduced and quickly forgotten and/or left unanswered for me to ever give it that high a score. Plus, aside from a few characters, the character development in this season wasn't handled very well. I still think it's a decent season, full of fun episodes and what not, and I do think Chosen was pretty much the best way to leave the series (and in my mind, after what Season 8 has become, it still is the place where the series has ended).

I think it went downhill as soon as the major plot kicked in. The writers plucked plot points out of their asses from that point on and hoped no-one would try to connect the dots. I found most of the individual episodes pretty good but the larger plot doesn't hang together at all.

Besides the plot issues, I think Season 7 got a little too "anvilicious."
I like it when TV shows have a message, a moral, some kind of purpose beyond just entertainment, but I also think they're most effective when they don't hit you over the head with it. Buffy was normally very good about that. We knew it was a show about equality and empowerment, but it was subtle. Season 7, with its introduction of Caleb as the over-the-top woman-hating villain, threw subtlety out the window. (I also thought Willow's "Oh ... my ... goddess!" was a little contrived.)

I like how Willow magic abilities became the most powerfulest character in the Buffyverse. In chosen she became a goddess obviously not technically but she did became powerful. I didnt like the whole concept of Kennedy saying that she a goddess, she doesnt even now her well too call her a goddess. I wished some one powerful said that too Willow instead of a potential.

Season 2 is my personal favourite. But Season 7 certainly had its merits, it was action packed and it bought the series to. It was a great ending and it was obvious that the whole thing had to end sometime and they certainly did it in style. Shame about Anja and Spike dying but some of the goodies had to die I suppose.

But Anya died of a hero and her death was the theme of battle, which i found it special.

I realize this probably puts me in the minority group, but I actually really like S7. Always have. In fact, I would say it is probably my fave season after S2. But Anya died of a hero and her death was the theme of battle, which i found it special. I agree with you here. Anya spent thousands of years among humanity, first as a human, then as a demon and back again. She started out punishing humans, but then grew to love them, so much, in fact, that she even began fighting for their cause. Not to mention fell in love. She even had the opportunity to remain a demon the second time around, yet chose to give up her mortality for the sake of her humanity. It was this love that won out in the end. Anya was privileged to live for thousands of years - which is more than any human gets. Yes, I love her character so it was sad that she died. At the same time, though, I think it's right that she went out the way she did. Taking a stand to fight for the humans she once loathed and persecuted. I think it really shows that her character had come full circle.

^ I totally agree. Anya character development , she was teaching about the human society of life, which at first she didn't get the human way,but then she progressed. Then she really knows about the way human act and their emotions. ANYA"And they have no purpose that unites them, so they just drift around, blundering through life until they die...which they...they know is coming, yet every single one of them is surprised when it happens to them. They're incapable of thinking about what they want beyond the moment. They kill each other, which is clearly insane. And yet, here's the thing. When it's something that really matters, they fight. I mean, they're lame morons for fighting, but they do. They never... never quit. So I guess I will keep fighting, too." This is special from a great character. Chosen to me represent battle and the theme of Anya death was unique, her death was brutal but that happens in battle, the bravest warriors die. which i found, special.
