What are your thoughts about the First, and its chances of making a reappearance? It's kinda the big daddy of evil... and Buffy kicked its arse... shouldn't there be backlash somewhen? hehe I would like to see it again, especially if it brings some more exposition of season 7 along with it.
Vaguely related first evil thing: Isn't there just waaay too many activated slayers about nowadays? Giles said there was only a handful of potnetials left. The First was supposed to be killing them off. It got mighty lazy methinks.

Maybe the Seers at the Coven in Britain couldn't find ALL the potentials, hell, they couldn't even tell that Amanda was living right in Sunnydale the entire time and never even came up on their radar.
And, The First wouldn't resurface any time soon. The whole reason it attacked at all in Season 7 is because of the glitch in the Slayer line after Buffy was ressurected. After being collapsed upon and there being 1800 Slayers around the world, The First would not EVEN attack until the time presented itself again.

It took many hundreds of years for it to get together it's first plan, so I expect it will take many more hundreds of years before it strikes again. Which means... Firefly! Unfortunately, since magic doesn't appear to exist in the Firefly universe, they can't fight it and they all die.
No, actually, it means Fray. I wouldn't be at all surprised if The First was the villain of a future installment (if any) of Fray.

Yeah I'm doing my own Fray continuation and the First will be a pivotal role in my "2nd season"

Wasn't the First finally able to mobilize its forces because Buffy being returned to the living threw the whole balance out of whack? It's possible, I would think, that now that there are so many Slayers in existence that the balance is so far out of whack that the First could make another appearance. I'm not sure, but it would seem to be a possibility. But anything is possible in the Joss-verse.

^That's what I thinking.
I remember a while back discussing it with a mate. The first was waiting for it's army to swell so it overwhelms the earth, the balance is thrown out of whack and it can be made flesh. Who's to say the balance being buggered in the opposite direction won't do something equally bad too.
As for the time it takes for the first to gather a force enough to take over the world again, it'll be a while it's true; but I wasn't thinking that. Wouldn't take very long for the first to regroup enough to smack Buffy about a bit. The first seems like the vengeful type to me.
There's a chance the first had already struck back in some form as of season 8. I wonder if we will learn of what happened between 7 & 8 somewhen soon...

The First would not dare to reappear anytime soon with 1800 Slayers all around the World. And aren't Faith and Robin technically still battling with The First in Cleveland? I mean they are on a Hellmouth. But that doesn't technically mean they are fighting The First.
The whole reason The First even mobilized is because Buffy died and was ressurected, still dont get that though.

The First reasoning always confused me. I thought the line ran through Faith now since Buffy died(first time) making Kendra and her dying made Faith. Didn't they say that Buffy had to die last in the show before the line ended?

I think the First will defiantly come back into the fold. You would silly to think other wise. With the balance now being shifted even more i think he could end up being our S9 baddie maybe. Maybe he could e the one that ends all magic and such [fray] Maybe its a if we [demons] win we get to rule the world if good wins then all magic will be stopped, demons gone etc. Winner takes all kindda...

I'm not sure if I want to see how it ends or like leaving it up to the fans to guess. It does make me curious how it will affect ATS. Will all the demon characters there be banished/killed? There's three main vampire characters, Connor, a ghost, an old one, Lorne, a werewolf, and I don't think we ever were told what Gwen is. As for the First, it's plans would have to be huge now given the slayer army and if it still wants to control the souled vampires. But if it was the end all fight of magic until Fray that affects ATS it would make sense for Worfram and Hart to be part of it.
