Yeah, I know that there is no way they can flashback to IDW lol, What I mean is that Angel could always just tell her what went on.

Angel's mission could go either way for me. He's done horrible things, this "big old act for the greater good" means he's morally compromised, but then again he's always lived in grey.
I don't share this big fear that Joss is gonna pull a redemption card on him and make all forgiven. Angel has surpassed that notion, being an accessory to countless deaths, and he's not sorry. Buffy is the real hero, and I don't expect her to share his views, even if she flirts with the idea.

I'm a little uncomfortable with direction the season has gone ever since vampires were clumsily revealed to the world. It seems like they have toyed with the consequences of this, and the subsequent slayers=bad thing, but not really dealt with it.
Also it seems like the writers regret giving Buffy an army of slayers and now proceed to rip it all away. She's moved beyond Sunnydale and that's a good thing.
Angel as Twilight? Meh. Shocking yes, but more for the legal reasons I'd have assumed kept him in his own comic. Needs more 'splaining. I really don't see how he gets to where he is, or how they could explain w/o putting IDW in a corner.

This is the right thread for this, right? I'm just now getting back into Season Eight, so I haven't visited these midst very often in the past few weeks.
So, after reading Twilights Parts One and Two and reading a preview for Part Three (I think) with Giles' speech about the secret history of slayer and vampires, I've formed a theory about the end of magic, Buffy and Twilight / Angel's superpowers and the prophecy about Buffy. I've been thinking, maybe the prophecy is not just about Buffy, but about Angel too. I think it concerns a vampire Slayer (Buffy) and a vampire (Angel) coming together to end all magic. This could explain why they both have their powers, as they might be necessary to banish magic. It could also explain why Buffy starts to glow when she gets near Angel. It could be their powers reacting as they are supposed to be together to fulfill the prophecy. The bit where Giles is about to explain about the history of slayers and vampires has got to have some purpose. I doubt he would take the time to tell a useless tale in the midst of what's happening and if my ideas about the prophecy are correct, then it does have to do with the relationship between a vampire slayer and a vampire.
EDIT:
I read someone else theory that suggested Giles may have known about this prophecy longer than just Season Eight and I got to thinking... If my theory is correct and Giles did know about it before S8, then perhaps this could explain his unwillingness to help Angel in season five of A:tS. Perhaps he wanted as much distance between Buffy and the scoobs and Angel as possible.

To me, it feels like the character of Twilight has changed ever since he was unmasked. When we saw him as Twilight, he was the Big Bad villian, but since he's been revealed as Angel and started pouting on about powers and 'I'm doing the right thing', idk, it feels like the character is completely different to how he first showed up

Yeah I don't think everything quite comes together all that well. Angel "playing" the role doesn't excuse the direct involvement with nasty things we saw in previous issues. As Allie stated a hundred times though, we're not done explain this situation yet.

I've been thinking about this alot, and i've come up with something that might solve our unanswered questions.... i think Twilight may not be the real Angel. maybe it's still Twilight in form of Angel so he could gain Buffy's trust. Or maybe it's a different reality Angel, because think about it, it doesn't match up to the series Angel!! Also, in the spoiler of #37 it looks like they are going back to Sunnydale High with Xander and Willow dead on the floor. That might be this new reality Angel bringing Buffy back to his reality of the world.
questions? comments? thoughts??

I really hope that's the case, but honestly, the way Darkhorse and co have been confirming over and over that Twilight is Angel kinda tells me otherwise. I think Twilight is seriously Angel at this point. If Twilight is only shapeshifting as Angel it would really weaken the story even more.
