Faith belongs on Buffy but I think Gwen could have been fleshed out more and been a great addition to the season 5 cast.

Evil cordy was never part of the main storyline didn't they just write that in because of her pregnancy? Personally I am a huge fan of Gwen, I think she's a genuinely interesting character who'soften overlooked and would love to see a storyline where she is revealed to have been Buffy's cousin or something  |

He could've been resurrected and had a Cordeliaesque role or he could've portrayed The First, as the only thing I've read about him coming back mentions him coming back as a villain. |

Actually death means a lot when it's the actor that died. As for more info on the original Season 4... I don't know a whole lot. I read that Cordy was to be the villain and the season finale would have a big fight between her and Angel. The details of the plot were never elaborated on, as far as I know. |

I read an interview with David Fury where he mentioned discussion about an evil Doyle appearance. The way he worded it, I think it was idea disgarded before the actor passed on. I'd assume the idea disgarded in favour of evil Cordy.

I really did hate the evil Cordy character, but maybe being evil in that way would've ruined any character, so I'd rather Cordelia's character be ruined than Doyle's, even if it were possible

Im sad because in this David Boreanaz unauthorized autobio i got it said that Faith was gonna be a main character and Amy and Cordy from BTVS would of been too and it would of been a Charlies Angels style thing

But I don't buy it, either, unless it was a really early concept that got thrown out before they were even halfway thru BtVS S3. The only rumor I've heard about a different cast for "Angel" originally that I give any credence to was that Joss wanted to bring back Whistler, but the actor was already busy with something else so he changed it to a "Whistler-like character", which became Doyle... |

I was under the impression that Whistler was dropped because of copyright issues or whatever, as there was a comic book about a heroic vamp with a sidekick named Whistler.
