So i was watching Amends the other day and it clicked to me.
The first is incorporeal right? i.e it can't touch anything.
Thats why it gets others to do its dirty work e.g Caleb

BUT in Amends Jenny Calendar touches Angel & Giles
And im pretty sure some of the other "the firsts" from Angels past
touch him aswell.

Did i catch Joss slip up???
Or am i wrong

Some people may see it as a slip-up. But the First can "touch" you, as in you perceive its touch. It's a mental thing. When it appeared to Buffy as Joyce, it "touched" her too. And hey, you can hear The First/Buffy walking about all the time in S7.
In short, to Angel, it probably felt like he was being touched. Mind over matter, I guess.
