If Thing Were Different

So the scene in Enemies were Faith is about to leave Angels mansion and asks him "If Things Were Different" would they be to together?

This scene always makes me sad since im a big Fangel shipper
But im just curious on other peoples oppinions.

If things were different and Buffy never existed of she did but Angel didn't love her would he love Faith or ever love her?

Or if Buffy died at the end of S1 and Faith still came into play would Angel take the duty of watching over he like he did for Buffy but then fall for her?

I think Angel may have looked out for Faith if something had happened to Buffy, but I don't think he would ever have fallen for her. I don't think she is Angel's type at all, I think she is too rude and emotionless for him to be attracted to her. Even though Darla was a bad girl, she had an element of class about her due to her bloodlines, and Buffy was tough and could be bolshy, but she was also very sweet, caring and emotional. I always think Angel likes women with a bit of class and self respect, whereas Faith can be quite tarty and brash. Don't get me wrong, I love Faith as a character, she brings so much to the show and has some great moments, but I just don't see her with Angel...

I think Angel and Faith developed a very strong bond and that they could get a lot from each other but I don't really feel like Angel has romantic feelings about Faith. They could be a lot of things for each other and will probably always look to each other when they can't find those things in others, but I don't see Angel ever falling in love with Faith. I can't decide about her...

I can't see Angel and Faith ever becoming romantically involved, even if Buffy had never been on the scene. He's never had an sort of romantic inclination towards her and, despite her going after him in Consequences, I don't think she ever really had an romantic interest in him either. He was just another thing in Buffy's life that Faith coveted. Buffy had the mother, the friends, the Watcher and the boyfriend, and I think Faith just wished that she had all of that too.

I think if there had been no Buffy/Angel, Faith and Angel would have ended up with the friendship that they have in Se4 of Angel.

I can imagine them having a great relationship cause she's fun where as Buffy was like mega serious 99.9% of the time. For some reason i see Faith staying with Angel after Sanctuary and she keeps stealing his hair gel haha.
