This is a support-group for everyone who are addicted to spoilers, but who are fighting the addiction. The cover for issue 37 or Season 8 has been released, but I have decided (for the hundredth time) to not be spoiled anymore. I have to resist. I should have learned my lesson with the Dark Future Willow fiasco, but I still looked at the spoiler-marked cover for issue 33 and the Twilight-reveal was ruined. Now I say: NO MORE!!!! Now I won't look at comic covers, read solicitations, and I have the banner and avatar function turned off, so I won't be spoilered. Who out there feel my pain? Who share my struggle (about Season 8 or any other creation)? Who wants to give me a virtual hug? PS. Let's be light on the plot-discussion of any fandom, comic, tv-series etc etc.

I personally don't really consider covers and solicitations spoilers. I can't think of one cover that I've seen that has made me go "Well, wish I hadn't seen that." Obviously the Twilight reveal is an exception. I would see the cover when I bought the issue anyway, before reading it. Solicits are also always pretty vague and don't really spoil what is happening in a current arc. So I don't consider myself spoiled by looking at those things. I hate spoilers in general though, usually with TV shows that I love. If I get spoiled, I feel like an entire episode (or season, if large enough) has been ruined since that initial shock or surprise is all but gone. If I get spoiled for the LOST finale, for example, oooooh boy. Life ruined.

I'm sensitive even to small spoilers. If I find out that a certain character is going to be in a issue, I see a cover months before it's released that hints at what's going to happen, I think "Oh crap, (partly) ruined".
But they are delicious. Spoilery spoilers, how I crave you.

I hate spoilers. But like Wyndam, I don't mind seeing the covers if they're not spoilery. If I had a choice on being spoiled for Twilights identity, I wouldn't have gone near anything to do with the arc or future arcs. Unfortunately, I had no choice.
Just curious: do you consider previews for the issues as spoilers? I remember when the first 4 minutes of the LOST premiere were leaked, and I was in the middle of watching it and my brother freaked out! He thought I was crazy because I was apparently watching spoilers. Really? I don't see that as a spoiler considering it's just the start of the next released episode that I'm gonna see in a couple of days anyway.

A preview isn't a spoiler, it's just a part of the episode/issue. But I'd really prefer to read it a day or two before I read the issue, otherwise I get too impatient.
But if someone told me about what happens in the preview, I would count it as a spoiler, since it tells about the story, but without me actually reading the story.
Talking about the story=spoiler, showing me part of the story=not a spoiler, unless I'm not prepared for it.
But just in case, give a spoiler-warning to me before showing me a panel or something from a future issue.

I don't really consider comic previews spoilers either. I guess if you don't want to see ANYTHING before you actually open the issue, then that could be considered a spoiler. But since I'll be reading the issue soon enough anyway, I don't mind reading a few preview pages. Plus, preview pages don't usually spoil huge events like character deaths or returns, so the issue's emotional punches are remained intact.

I go on spoilerfix.com all the time. I was doing so good at avoiding this site for the longest time until after Lost last week. Yes, I admit it. I messed up and read something I really didn't want to read then hurry and got the hell out of there. I was 4 months sober and then I went to get another fix. I read all spoiler for all my shows. I was so proud of myself for not reading any Lost spoilers and then I read spoilers last week, and then I was so disappointed. *sigh* Even though I haven't read anymore Lost spoilers I still read spoiler from all of my other shows. *sigh again* I need help.

Oh, god... I'm horribly addicted to spoilers. I've completely spoiled myself for all the shows/books/movies/you name it I've ever gotten into, they're just so hard to stay away from! I think it all started when I was a child, and I would always read the last page of a book first. Heh... *virtual hugs Sky*

I'm glad, and incredibly sad, I'm not alone.
It used to start out innocently. I read the episode summaries for Buffy & Angel seasons in advance so I could read fanfics, without feeling lost. While dumb, since I knew it would ruin the surprise, it was so I could have something fun and free to do while waiting for my birthday's and christmas when I could get the DVDs from my parents (thank God for having my own money now). But little did I know I was going to get addicted.
I just wanted a few fun rides, but now I sit here in the gutter, crying over lost innocent and craving another fix.

*sob*
I went to the buffyfest blog because I was bored and wanted to see if they had any cool news (I was aware that they have lots of spoilers tough).
I saw something I really didn't want to see, both because it's a spoiler-ish thing (a panel from issue 34) and because I really don't want to see the characters like that. So now I definitly have to buy the next issue and read as soon as possible. I've ordered the latest issues and will get them any day, but I had decided to wait until issue 35 is out. But now I need it now!!!
And I want to read spoilers. I want a fix. Argh!

I resisted for the longest time, but I finally took a little peek. And I regretted. As soon as I saw one Lost spoiler at some website I hurried and got the hell out of there. Lol. *sigh* I almost two weeks sober.

You can attribute THAT to our wonderful writer/producers for crafting sheer brilliance right up until the very end. Sorry about that. I stopped doing that when the really BIG spoilers hit a few weeks ago. It's time to just ride the wave, even for me. I'm really excited, the ending is shaping up to be ten kinds of epic! (Maybe even eleven...? )
