If you don't remember a couple months ago, I started a complaint because I didn't want to see any spoilers in Banners or avatars. I exactly know who Twilight is, (I but i think i can guess due to this months tasteful banner *meh* ) because I have successfully avoided every single spoiler so far. I'm pretty happy with my choice, but its still hard not being able to go to the Q and A's because of spoilers. I feel like I'm being left behind in the Buffy community, which sucks.

It's also hard if you read the trade paperbacks, and don't buy the individual copies. I don't know how you've managed to avoid them. I saw something I really didn't want to see, both because it's a spoiler-ish thing (a panel from issue 34) and because I really don't want to see the characters like that. I know, I saw it too. I tweeted the Buffyfest crew and they had to cheer me up. Mostly because of your reason #2. Still I don't regret it. I'd rather know and prepare myself! I'm a bit of a spoiler addict. If there's something planned for next year, I wanna know what it is! As for Lost, I read almost all of HH's spoilers That button is just asking to be clicked. And since I rarely re-watch episodes, I usually forget the nitty gritty details anyway, so I end up being surprised regardless. The one show where I avoid spoilers at all costs is Top Chef.

It's so hard not to look at the covers for issue 38 of Season 8. I almost never read solicitations, but I really want to look at the covers, which are probably gorgeous, and very spoilery.
Anyone here who thinks I can make it until the issue is out?

Ok I admit it, I love spoilers. I knoww hat happens on the last page of Angel #35 despite the fact that I have yet to rea dit. But is that really so wrong? Maybe I'm being naive but particularly with covers etc. you have to trust that (most of the time) the people releasing them know what they're doing and won't give away themost important stuff. I don't believe that reading a story after finding out a few key events ruins it. I read New Moon before Twilight and still thoroughly enjoyed both. Maybe I'm wrong and I respect your decision you're much braver than I Sky.

I love spoilers too. But it was so long since I read a read a huge surprise, without thinking "I read about that one whedonesque half a year ago. How... exciting?"
And the covers are way too spoilery for me. The TBP for Twilight will make many people bang their heads in the wall, cursing darkhorse (I think there's one post that says something similar in this thread). I also wish I hadn't seen the issue 19 cover as early as I did. I speculated for so long how it could be Willow, and I expected it (while not expecting it, since I didn't think darkhorse would ruin a surprise like that) which ruined the AHA! moment for me.
I miss being clueless. And now I've been spoilered a bit more than I'd like on the ongoing Spiker series too, by someone who assumed everyone was in the know.

I love spoilers! I'm addicted and proud. For me my favourite part of any story isn't what happens: its how they happen.
So (assuming everyone here has watched all of Angel) I didn't mind knowing that Doyle would die because the magic for me was in HOW he died and the effect it had on everyone else around him.

If I had known Doyle would die while watching the first half of season 1, I wouldn't have let myself care for him as much I could, since I knew he was a gooner. That would have ruined the story for me.

I was really annoyed at the Twilight reveal too although I must say that I was so sure it was Willow all along that I wasn't really annoyed by #19.
I must say though sometimes when a page is loading it takes a while for the spoilers to show up as a spoiler button for me. So when I click on a thread and it starts loading I see the top few posts displayed with just "spoiler" in square brackets written around them and the text displayed, so I literally can't avoid them sometimes. I think that's my computer's fault though and not slayalive's
