Angel & Buffy, love story.

I have too write this thread about Buffy's and Angel relationship.
I am re watching Buffster (again!),but the development is excellent. Buffy's true and first love was an excellent story and Angel back round was entertaining and effectual done, the first vampire with an soul!!.Excellent script.
Angel back round is so mysterious it attract the audience , because scene to scene we only see him in the dark at the bronze telling Buffy some evil business. The first time i watch the episode Angel, OMG he is a vampire!,i was so shocked because their intended that Angel human,but god was i wrong.
The intention and vibe are oozing out of them the chemistry and the inner emotion with each other,excellent.
Buffy losing her virginity over Angel to attract the soul to disport and angel appearing as a soulless monster and Buffy has to end him.
Excellent script,Buffy grew up in character when she stabbed angel and sent him to hell...

What your thought on the relationship.?

Yeah, it was interesting to watch, but when they just kept going back and going back over it again and again, it got boring. I was getting sick of it and I'm just like 'bloody well move on, the both of you! that part of you is over, no need to keep repeating it'

I see what you're saying, buffylover. I like Spuffy, too (well, parts of it anyway) but Bangel will always be my first love. And all the stuff between Buffy and Angel: getting closer, falling in love, and then Angel going all evil on her - this is the arc where the show hit its stride, in my opinion, and really the point where I fell in love with the show as a whole, so their relationship has a special place in my heart for that reason. In fact, I would dare say that the Bangel/Angelus arc is one of the best arcs, if not the best arc, throughout the history of the series. To see their relationship unfold before our eyes that way, was really fascinating to watch; it really gripped you and held your attention. This is probably why I place season 2 as my favorite season to this day. It's just really great television. And I definitely agree with you that Buffy grew up after killing Angel. She definitely became stronger than she already was.

I totally agree with your post.
Spike and Buffy was enemy at first then Spike emotion grew for her, then he loved her. In season 7 , to me anyways the season show the concept of their feelings well, it was beautiful..

I agree I like the whole Buffy and Spike thing but I love the Buffy and Angel love story.

If Spuffy never happened, and Spike was still with Dru, I could be on board with Bangel for sure. There was definitely an element of forbidden love going on with those two that I really liked. Angel was the first person that Buffy let herself be vulnerable with, and you still see Buffy waver a little whenever Angel is mentioned. I always break down in S3, during Beauty & The Beasts, when Angel falls to his knees after coming back from hell and protecting Buffy from that Pete kid.

The whole development of the Buffy & Angel love thing was great and culminates with a fantastic twist. Angel turns bad, Buffy confused and wants to hate and kill but deep down still loves him and in turn hoping that he still loves her.

I noticed with the Buffy/Spike story line no matter how close they got, physically and emotionally she kept him at a slight distance as well. She used him to help in her work, she was forever having sex with him and there was a certain bond (perhaps they had a spiritual unity because they were both bought back from the dead) but I always felt that there was a distance between them. Perhaps it was a case of been there and done it before and didn't want to let go fully with loving Spike all the way emotionally. Pity really as I thought that they made a good pair together.

I'm much more a Riley fan, in terms of it being a relationship that's actually more or less healthy.

I liked the whole slayer falling in love with the vampire with a soul story in series one and two. I thought it was romantic and exciting and sweet, especially the moments buffy and angel spent together (alone and not fighting demons) but after a while it did start to annoy me a bit and you just wanted them to pull themselves together

I hated the buffy and spike relationship, I never really understood where it all started or came from, but I can see that it kind of had it's purpose in the buffyverse.

I obviously really liked the buffy and riley relationship, as I found it interesting how their secrets intertwined, in a different way to the way hers and angel's did, and how it was like a proper adult relationship more than just a teenage crush.
