I've had this play-set constructed ever since I started collecting Buffy pieces. It started off with those plastic blocks of grass, then it evolved a bit. As I started getting better at sculpting and painting (and collecting some really cool pieces) I decided to redo my graveyard. I visited our local cemetery and took some pictures of the graves to give me an idea how a graveyard should look.
Here is a long ago picture with the clumps of plastic grass.
Here is the sketchy layout of my new cemetery--unsculpted:
Finished:
Some close ups:
(one of my favorites)
Here is the fountain before and after sculpt:
The fountain and other parts of the cemetery is just random bits I find while junk shopping. You probably recognize Buffy grave pieces and the bunnies. I still have to glue the fence in place and the sidewalk, otherwise it's done. I want to make a Buffy scene and the one that sticks out in my mind is when the vamp stakes her with her stake. It's been done twice that I've seen, maybe more, but you know me, I'll put my own spin on it! Not sure I'll get to it during my break (God, I love spring break!!!) ;D
I love how the painting turned out. I first painted the elaborate "grave stone" dark grey. Then on a whim, I took some lighter grey and lightly brushed it on top. The result is what you see. I loved it so much I did that on nearly everything (as you can see). I just love how it all looks now.
I am open to any commission requests!
