OP updated with plot summary. These last episodes sound like we're in for a white-knuckle ride all the way through... which isn't a bad thing at all.

Good episode that turned amazing in the final 10 minutes. Can't help but feel a little underwhelmed overall though. Probably my least favorite since the amazingness kicked off with The Left Hand.
It just felt like things could of moved a bit quicker, especially the Boyd part. Kind of annoying not getting any answers until more than halfway through, and when that started happening it became clear not everything would be answered. What happened to Caroline? She was imprinted into Echo right? Not clear on the whole Clyde/Saunders thing either. When did she become Clyde? Why cry when Boyd was leaving, and still act like Saunders before shooting Bennett? What exactly was the motive for killing her if Caroline still got fixed anyways? I digress.
I really liked how Boyd's ending was handled though. Kind of ironic, depressing and glad all at the same time. It was a pretty cool sequence.
Aww Mellie. Saw the death coming, but aww noooo. I liked her mini arc this season, and suicide rather than becoming a killer works well after The Public Eye. Awww noooo.
Topher really shined this episode (except for the 2.0 in the beginning, that was just a waste of time). He's become an amazing character. Adelle comforting him was subtle, but some of the best stuff this season.
Hope Epitaph Two really delivers an amazing ending, because this didn't.

I won't be able to stop thinking about this episode until I answer the unanswered questions by myself.
1. Whiskey was Saunders up until after the scene where Boyd leaves. It really doesn't make sense that Boyd had to come back and imprint her but it works for me. I'm ok with Boyd finding Claire, pretending to love her, and inviting her back in to secretly imprint her as Clyde.
2. On the whole Clyde acting like Claire.. did she really? She could just as easily be Clyde talking about how she never thought Topher could express love. It's a stretch but that's the one I'm gonna take.
3. Motive for killing Bennett: Even though Boyd acted as though he wanted Caroline, he imprinted Claire as Clyde to kill Bennett before it was done. When that didn't work out, Boyd came back and drugged Echo in a second attempt to hide his identity.
The only thing I don't understand is why did Boyd pretend he was in love with Claire the whole time?
There needed to be more Echo.
Oh, they better explain in the last episode how the Dollhouse is back up and running like the Epitaph One scenes show us.

Damn unanswered questions. The more I'm thinking about it the more I'm getting annoyed. Barely anything was answered, nothing really makes sense or ties together. I don't see how they will be able to answer anything in the finale since they have bigger fish to fry.... like saving the world and stuff. I get they had limited time, but damn. This is just majorly disappointing.

This is just majorly disappointing. I know what you mean. I'm still trying to make a my own answers that will satisfy me because the ones I wrote above don't. I wish they could explain more of the Boyd and Claire stuff but it's not like Echo and the crew will be mentioning much of anything that happened this episode because the episode is taking place ten years from now. GAHH. It just frustrates me so much. When did Claire become Clyde? Who actually shot Bennett? Why did they shoot Bennett? Why the hell did Boyd need them to try to take down Rossum? If those four questions were answered, I would've enjoyed this episode.

I thought it was pretty good. Got our expected character death quota. Loved Anthony and Priya, and poor Mellie.
One question I'd like answered is how Boyd got Adelle to say Mellie's trigger phrase? By threatening to shoot Topher? And why didn't Adelle just speak the wrong phrase? AFAIK they had no incoming audio of Paul and Mellie, so Boyd wouldn't have known right away if she'd lied.
I wonder if Alpha will be in the finale?

GAHHH It just makes me so angry. We're never gonna get those questions answered. I'm gonna watch some House. That'll get my mind off it.
Side note: Yes, Alpha is confirmed for the finale.

AndrewCrossettI thought Boyd played the tape of Mellie killing Serierra's handler, since the line was in there.

These are just my thoughts to some of the questions posted --
Claire/Clyde part:
I think Claire is the one who shot Bennett. I think she was still angry as hell with Topher so she took revenge on him through Bennett.
Then after shooting her, she just walked down the stairs. We don't know where she went after that so she could have left the Dollhouse and one of the other Clydes got her and imprinted her.
If she didn't leave the Dollhouse, one of the men sent to take down the Dollhouse grabbed her and took her back to Rossum where she was imprinted with Clyde's personality.
Caroline/Echo
I think Caroline became a part of Echo. Like all of the other imprints. Just because it's Caroline's body it doesn't mean that she controls the brain anymore. I think Echo controls that now. It was like throughout the episode it was mainly Echo but in certain scenes you could see Caroline trying to come through. So I think for all intents and purposes Echo is the one in charge now and Caroline has became a part of the composite.
Boyd
I loved his ending -- but is he really dead? Is he really even a doll now? They didn't show him dying. We only saw/heard the explosions. For all we know, he blew a different part of the Rossum building up. Plus Clyde 2.0 was knocked out cold in that room with Boyd if he did blow it up it would have killed Clyde and we've already seen that Whiskey survives. Also, Boyd was the only who watched Topher fix and activate the imprint device so logically Boyd would be the only person (besides Topher) to be able to restart the end of the world that was shown in the last few seconds of the episode. That's just my speculation or ideas on Boyd.
Oh and I think he did love Claire. I think he loved all of them. He had a warped view on family but I think he did consider them family. ___________ I don't know but that's how I'm answering those questions in my mind until we get more answers, which hopefully the finale will fill in the blanks.

Boyd played the tape of November killing Hern from Man on the Street. How he got it? Who the hell knows. If he had the tape, why bother threatening Adelle like that? Especially in a situation where time is of the essence?

As soon as it went out over the intercom, the scene went to Boyd next to a computer that the tape was on with soundwaves going off. Maybe Boyd is just big with the dramatics?
