i was inspired by the "what album/track did you last purchase" thread to post this. just curious who does what and for what reason. i always buy a full album. i've always bought full albums. if i like the artist enough, i like to give all of their music a chance to flood my ears.

I buy albums and tracks. I buy albums by the artists I like, but then I might buy just one song by someone that I have heard on the radio and may not have an album out yet, or I just like one of their songs. I also download music and buy cds. I always buy cds by the artists I am a super fan of, and all their singles on cd, but download songs/albums by others that I like but am not a super fan of, if that makes sense!

If I only like a few songs from an artist, I'll just buy some tracks. But if I've heard enough of their songs that I like I get the whole album. I'm an old fashion girl so whenever I want an album I buy the CD at the music store. Unless the stoopid music store doesn't have the CD I want, which does happen a lot.

If it's an artist that I really love, and I already have their other albums, I'll buy whatever the new album is without caring about the tracks. It's pretty rare that I do that though. I usually buy single tracks since there's nothing worst than getting home and hearing an album with 1 or 2 really great tracks and the rest is a mess. However, my favorite way to buy music is at a concert. I used to have a friend who lived in my city and we'd go to all these random concerts together, discovering bands we've never heard of, and then we built a good size collection of CDs that way. Too bad she moved

It's always full albums for me. If you look at my music library there are no spare tracks, they are all part of an album. My reason is that you will always find a few tracks on an album which are better than the actual singles, at least I always do. The only reason they don't get released as singles is because they are not as commercial as the ones chosen to be released.
