I just found out today that this is gonna be five issue long. Don't know if I was the only one who didn't know or not. No solicit to back up the info but If you check out TFAW they have each issue on the site listed as out of 5 and they are a fairly credible source.

Naw, TFAW isn't credible at all. They still call the Angel on-going "Aftermath" and fill in their own release dates without consulting the publisher.
"The Devil You Know" is for sure just four issues. The final issue came out today, and it was fun.
Here's a link to the interview I did with Bill Williams, re: Spike and Eddie Hope.

Yea I meant to retcon myself awhile ago when I didnt see a fifth solicit. I got this too. It was kinda anti climactic, I mean they shot some ice at the hellmouth and disrupted the magics that were holding it open, gotta say it couldve ended better but it was definetly a nice jaunt for the two characters.

Finally read this entire series after getting the TPB today. Very mediocre I have to say. I find Eddie Hope extremely dull as a character, always have. There was no real relationship between him and Spike beyond petty bickering, nothing to justify having a series which put them together. Neither character were explored in any depth.
The only good thing I can say about the series it that it utilised a wide variety of Buffyverse continuity - dating back to season one of Buffy - in interesting ways. Oh, and Franco's covers were beautiful. But the plot, characterisation, and interior artwork were all rather bland overall IMO.

Finally got to read the Spike-really enjoyed it.I'm an Eddie fan so was good to get to spend more time with him. I liked the dynamic between him and Spike-pity we didn't get to explore that more when Eddie would have joined the gang.
I also liked how Williams alluded to the history of the Angelverse. Lots if nice callbacks (Darla, the Master, Grappler demons, peepee demon, Circle of the Black Thorn to name a few). They are all part of this world and it's nice to acknowledge the past from time to time.Lots of nice Easter eggs for fans.
The art was dynamic and interesting, although I would not like it all the time, it worked well for this action packed story.
Really good exciting read. _________________
