Okay, so...next year, when I graduate, my parents will buy me a laptop. The thing is, shuol dI get a Macbook, or a PC?
I'm kind of a computer whiz, but I've grown up using PC and Windows Vista and stuff, and I don't really want to re-learn everything about computers, because I can navigate and fix problems adn do almost anything with Windows Vista now. Also, my programs like Photoshop, will I need to buy the Mac version if I get a Mac?
But Macs just seem....better. For one thing, they're shinier. But they also don't have any viruses and have way less complications than PCs do. My brother loves his, and my sister has a PC and she has a lot more trouble with her laptop than he does.
I dunno...thoughts?

I'm a PC fanboy but if you aren't going to be playing games or anything then Mac is probably the way to go (Even if they are overpriced)

Mac's are virtually problem free and don't get viruses. I'd suggest playing with your brother's and see if you like the operating system. I've been using Mac's for nearly 10 years and won't ever go back to PC.
With Photoshop, you'd most likely have to re-buy it.

As someone who's used some of the most difficult/annoying, space-taking-up programs on both PC and Macs, I recommend a PC. A lot of programs glitch super bad on Macs. It's really lame. But if you are the average person and just use a computer for internet, Microsoft programs, and leisurely fun, Macs are okay. They're definitely prettier.

I prefer PC. It's what I grew up using, apart from school projects, which didn't exactly give me good Mac associations. The lack of viruses would be good for me, but at the same time, you really can't do much in the way of games.
If you're going to college, I would check with them. Most that I've visited have some sort of computer help department (which I suppose you wouldn't need anyway, being a computer whiz), and while they probably support both types, they might have a preference. My school leans more toward PC.

I prefer Mac OS X to Windows, but my Macbook just broke for the twentieth time and my warrenty has now expired.
Go PC.

I grew up with both, so I'm comfortable with both. Macs are great for photo/video editing, but if you're comfortable using Windows, no reason to switch if you don't want/have to. It's not about the OS, it's about how you use it, and if you've set up a good system for overcoming the inherent problems of Windows, by all means, keep going with it. Windows 7 is a very solid OS.

I'm not as happy with my Mac as I thought I would be. My next computer will again be a PC.

I grew up with PC. I didn't see a Mac until I was 15, when I moved to a school that had nothing but Macs. I didn't enjoy it.

Macs have a lot of advantages, but for school and work I would reccommend a PC due to the fact that most business and universities use PC and PC compatitble software. For artists and filmakers, Mac is probably the way to go.

All I can say is that I HATE macs. I have to use them in my media classes, they are great for image and video editing. Other than I cant stand them.

lets put it this way....
- if you like the trouble of your computer slowing down after installing your virus software, go ahead buy a PC. - If you like programs that freeze and close on your, go ahead get a PC
Now, if you would like a computer that simply "works", go ahead buy a mac. I'm typing this on a mac, right now. I know this sounds bias, but I went from a PC to a Mac, and wouldn't go back. There is office available for the Mac systems, as well as CD/DVD burners.
Its also possible to have Windows on your Mac. I have both OSX and Windows 7 Ultimate. I find that Macs are built better, and will last longer for me in the long run, rather than buying a PC which I will need to update.
Take the hit now, invest in a better machine, that requires less up-keep.

Okay, another question.
I have an iPod. It's formatted with Windows. If I buy a Mac, will I have to reformat my iPod and completely erase it's memory adn stuff?

Yeah, your iPod would have to be reformatted. An external harddrive would take care of that though (just transfer the music from your PC to Mac, add it to iTunes and sync your iPod).
