I love comic books, so i guess over-the-top insanity doesn't really bother me. Buffy is one of the most down-to-earth comics I read. Compared to Outsiders, my second favorite comic, Buffy is outright realistic. Outsiders has all the fun of giant apes with ray guns, super intelligent disembodied gay brains in jars, and not one but two molecular men with the ability to turn themselves into rootbeer.

I have had a few issues with the very comic-y way the season is being told so far, but I am just going to trust that Joss knows what he's doing. I think it's been hard accepting that we are really not going to get the show the way we know it on the pages of the comics. It's a hard adjustment I guess. I know I am still grieving the loss of the show and probably always will.

Just a few minutes ago I posted about one of Lees posts and waiting for more. Well here I am. Wish granted.

It's just because it's drawn the artists go much further to make it visually distinctive. The only thing that really bugged me was the lame military body armour stuff. I think you're right about adjusting. It may become more toned down, but it will still be a comic and that needs adjustment. Hell I even had trouble making sense of some pages lol. Not a comic reader. Meh. As long as Joss is steering I'm sure it'll always be entertaining.

Henz, I know exactly what you mean. I have had some "What is going on?" moments while reading the comics. I am not a comic reader so I think I am a little challenged when it comes to trying to read them properly. I read a few issues over and over just to make sure I am not completely lost.

As far as comics go, Buffy is actually pretty coherent, except for all of the unpleasant errors. All in all, I haven't had a lot of trouble understanding it, except for the parts we aren't meant to understand yet. I know what you're saying, though. So far when I read Angel I feel like I'm missing something. it's really far out.
