Got ahold of my 'shop, and they have some left! I think the series is doing pretty well here, or that's the impression I got. The woman said, "Uh, I got some in, but I'm not even sure if we have any left." I don't know, but it got my hopes up somewhat!
I plan on stopping by tomorrow. I hope they have both covers left. If not, I hope it's Urru's. xD Love, love, love that one.

Got this on Thursday but not had a chance to comment on it yet. I was really impressed with it. So impressed, actually, I'm just going to list the things I liked about it. - The recap of Spike's life. A little expositiony, but no more so than Doyle's summary of Angel's life in "City of". Made the book feel more like it's own title and not just an Angel story.
- Last Angel in Hell being referenced. Canon!
- The hilariously accurate Twinkle spoof. I'm sure Brian didn't mean it in a mean-spirited way but since I'm a Twilight hater I chose to take it that way and thoroughly enjoyed it. "You're not twinkling!" Does lead to slight headaches when you consider Buffy's Twilight reference though.
- Spider getting the resolution she never got in AtF.
- Illyria being a bitch again. "I am [watching the civilians]. They're weeping. It's repulsive." It's like an antidote to the Angel book.
- The tense and untrusting relationship between Spike and Malposo. I enjoy minor recurring characters.
- Beck! I hope her new attitude is explained.
- George! "Party at my suite! I'm totally human!"
- Drusilla being set up to have a significant role. It always bugged me she never got resolution on either show, but that will probably benefit this series a great deal.
So yeah, great first issue. And if those sexy Spillow covers are anything to go by, it's only going to get better.  |

Aaaand I just went to the comics shop to find that they didn't have my issue. Instead they'd given me some comic adaptation of H.G. Wells' "The Invisible Man," which I did not ask for.
Which means they'll have to re-order my issue, which means I won't get it for about 2 weeks.

Something I forgot to mention; I loved how the opening line was a homage to Fray. With the vast chasm that's existed between Dark Horse and IDW the past few years, it's nice to have minor crossovers/references like that to keep the universe knitted together.

Oh man, just got news that I won't be getting my copy for another 10 days.  Liking the reviews. The "soul" stuff's pretty intriguing. I'm thinking this new vampire(?) was somehow responsible for Spike getting his soul back in BtVS Season 6. Or that he was supposed to get one but Spike got it instead. And now he's laying claim on it. That would be super awesome! Spike fought to *get* his soul and now he'll have to fight to *keep* it. Already looking forward to the next one... |

And he tells that to Drusilla - just remember (S2 BtVS) Dru's reaction to Angel loosing his soul. I think it was just to play mind games with Drusilla. |

I just finshed this issue . . . I. LOVED. IT. Wonderful job Mr Lynch! I felt every character was just spot on (although I must admit, having only just met her, I haven't really warmed to Beck yet). Not sure how I feel about the Spike-having-that-guy's-soul storyline yet, but I'm ready to give it a go! And I was ecstatic to see my claimee Betta George getting so much screen-time, he's so awesome! Spike was compeltely in character the whole way through and I finally felt like I could just relax and enjoy the story without worrying about canonical issues, the artwork ("Who's that supposed to be?" "Nina" "Oh, I thought it was Angel") and the characterisation. Can't wait for the next one). |

Oh, I've got my copy today too! And I really enjoyed it! :-*Very good start, Mr. Lynch! I'm impressed and I can't wait for the next issue. Actually I'd wish to read all 8 issues right now! I loved the "Twinkle" parody, especially this one: William:"Back off Jared" Jared: "Or what? You'll twinkle all over me?" That was hilarious! I'm totality Twilight hater in every meaning! I don't like sparkle and glowing vampires!  I loved and the Dru and her mysterious lover part (wow, these kinky toys on the floor!  )- I'm still curious who or what is he - a vampire, werewolf, immortal or something else and who's his boss - W&H maybe... Oh, I cannot wait to find out! , I suppose you're getting these comics from DISPOSABLE HEROES COMICS... I think they deliver their stuff too slow.
