So, Amy Acker has had some outstanding performances, and some amazing characters to play. Which role did she shine the brightest in?:
The genius, sweetheart - Winifred 'Fred' Burkle The all powerful God-King - Illyria The scarred physician, imprint - Dr. Claire Saunders Or, the broken Doll - Whiskey
Amy will also be playing Wendy Lin in The Cabin in the Woods, but God knows when that'll be out.
I voted for Fredikins. Amy's best acting was in A Hole in the World, as Miss Burkle. Her performance was heartbreaking, and hauntingly beautiful. She definately shines the brightest in this role.
She was fabulous as Illyria too. She played the part so well, but Amy never got the chance to have a breakthrough moment. Not as big as A Hole in the World. I'm possitive, if Angel had had a Sixth Season, that Illyria would have gotten those moments.
As for Claire Saunders and Whiskey... I love 'em both to death. But neither compare to Fred or Illyria. Claire had some great moments in Briar Rose, Omega, and Vows, but she was only a recurring character, after all. She wasn't around enough. Had Amy NOT gone on to do the dreadful Happy Town, she probably would have been a major character in Season Two. Sadly... Amy did go on to do that failure. (Sorry, Amy!)
Whisey was so interesting. She only appeared a handful of times, and only has one major role in Epitaph One, but Amy played a Doll perfectly. Plus, that ghostly gown she wears is pretty spiffy. Simple, but great.
Agree, disagree? Discuss!

im going to go with Fred. Just because she played her longer then she did with her other roles. Claire comes a close second, then Illyria, then Whiskey.

I voted Fred for many reasons. She was so innocent and pure and I love that she can maintain that innocence even though she is surrounded by evil and death. My favourite episodes were 'Supersymmetry' and 'The magic bullet'. I also love that Fred is so mentally strong, which was shown in 'a hole in the world' when she says; "I am not the damsel in distress. I am not some case. I have to work this. I lived in a cave for five years in a world where they killed my kind like cattle. I am not going to be cut down by some monster flu. I am better than that!" That line gets me every time. Second is Claire Saunders, I always felt so sorry for her. Even when she killed Bennet (you could argue that it wasnt her but for the sake of my post go along with it ;D) I felt sorry for her. She was a really interesting character as well, Especially in her scene with Topher in 'vows'. This quote comes to mind; "I'm not even real. I'm in someone else's body, and I'm afraid to give it up. I'm not better than you. I'm just a series of excuses" Third is Illyria, I loved her as Illyria but not as much as the other two. And then Whiskey, she is last because we didnt see a lot of 'whiskey-action'. I love her as 'Clyde 2.0' though

I think actors end up being partially defined by their first major role, so in ym eyes Amy will always be Fred and that makes Fred her best and most memorable performance. My favourite Fred performances were Super Symmetry and of course A Hole In the World

I can't decide on the matter. I loved her as Fred/Illyria, but she was also fantastic as Dr. Saunders/Whiskey.

She was best as Fred, I guess. Claire was kinda boring, so she's in third and Illyria is definitely last, which leaves Whiskey for number two.

What no love for Happy Town? Oh yeah, that show blew.
Anyway, I voted Fred. I hope to see Amy get a strong role in a GOOD series soon. She has a lot to offer but lately hasn't had a chance to see her characters develop.

What no love for Happy Town? Oh yeah, that show blew. I watched the first episode for Amy Acker and quickly lost interest. She was the only good thing about that program. Did they cancel it? I voted for Whiskey probably because it's the freshest in my mind right now. Even though I love Fred too, Amy Acker took on such a great range of emotions as Whiskey, that I have to say it's been my favorite to date. From figuring out she's actually a doll, the emotional run-in with Topher in the back room, and pulling off the androgynous Clyde. I think it totally showed off her acting chops.

What no love for Happy Town? I only counted her Jossverse performances. From figuring out she's actually a doll, the emotional run-in with Topher in the back room, and pulling off the androgynous Clyde. I think it totally showed off her acting chops. I always considered the first two reasons to have been Claire. It was her persona within that body, not the blank slate 'Whiskey'. The only things that Whiskey appeared in, IMO, are flashbacks and Epitaph One, when she is acting as a Doll. I'm sure Claire could be considered as being Whiskey, but I like to think of them as two separate beings.

I think people are generally going to say the first role they saw her in. Which for me was Dr Saunders. I'm rather aware I'm the only one who voted that...

Fred. She brought a new life to Angel and quickly became one of my favorite characters in the entire Buffyverse. The quote mentioned a few posts above from A Hole In The World is amazing.
While I loved Dollhouse, my favorite season/episodes were from Season 2 which she barely had any part in compared to the first so Claire really didn't have much of an impact on me.
