Damn, you beat me to it.
Should you maybe write "spoilers" in the title?
EDIT- So now he'll be doing two mini-series, one with Wes and one with Illyria.
I wonder if we get anymore...

Thanks for posting, queeroid! *karmas*
I've modified the title for spoilers. The fact that there's a mini-series post AtF and pre-Aftermath...well, it's beaucoup de spoilery.
This sounds very cool. So we have a Wesley project *and* a Illyria project by Mooney. Oh joy!

This is so exciting! I really love Stephen's art and I can't wait to see both of his projects come to fruition. IDW is really doing an awesome job with the Angel license. I love it.
Can't wait to hear more.

Let me ask the really difficult question... somebody has to do it...
Is it canon?

Let me ask the really difficult question... somebody has to do it... Is it canon? Since it will probably only be approved, not supervised, by Joss, a lot of us will think not. Mainly so for me because I suspect that he might not care about the events that take place in this series in case he decide to use the characters in his own series. For example: If Illyria dies in this series, Joss will still use her character if he wants too, without giving a explanation. And I'm okay with that. As long as we get more stories, I can live with that I don't know exactly how the characters are developing, because that could change in the next series. Sure, that means that any poignant, seemingly significant, charcater development can't be taken seriously, but I'll live with it.

Wow, us Angel fans are being spoiled are we not? This kicks ass.
As far as canon goes, well... nobody is disputing that Angel: After the Fall is canon. Spike: After the Fall can also be accepted as canon because it ties directly into A:ATF. Spike: Asylum and Spike: Shadow Puppets have both been referenced in ATF so most people can happily accept them as canon. Angel: Aftermath deals with, and is related to After the Fall. It's canon. By the sounds of it, Illyria: Before the Aftermath sounds like it deals with Angel: Aftermath. I'm pretty sure it will be canon by extention much the same way S:ATF was.

I'm guessing this will be along the same lines as Spike:ATF, in that its a 4 issue max miniseries expanding upon what goes on in ATF/Aftermath btw, whats this about a Wes spinoff? This is the first I'e read about that Spike: Asylum and Spike: Shadow Puppets have both been referenced in ATF so most people can happily accept them as canon. Can you explain how? George saying he's hung with vamps before and an apperance of some Asylum charatcers in ATF #10 don't automatically make Asylum & Shadow Puppets canon. I'd say Asylum can kinda be fitted into Angel Season 5's timeline, albeit unlikely. Though I don't get why Lorne would be in Vegas. Shadow Puppets however? Sorry but there no way in Hades that is taking place sometime in between an episode post "Shells" and pre "Not Fade Away" They both take place in the post NFA limbo land that Angel: The Curse, Old Friends, and Auld Lang Syne do. ie they're not canon. I think they're brilliant and hilarious stories too, and being not canon doesn't detract from them, but just saying, they ain't canon

Ugh. Why so many mini-series?! YAY that we are getting more, especially of Illyria, but I think it's just too much. It's the reason why I stopped reading the old IDW Angel comics, I couldn't keep up. I haven't even read the last two issues of Spike: AtF because I was focused more on Angel and Buffy, plus the fact it's too much money for me.

You can check out the info we have on Stephen Mooney's other mini-series that involves Wesley HERE. It's posted in the Giles' Library section because we really don't know enough about it yet, only that it isn't involved with After the Fall.

There's no "Wes" spin-off. Mooney mentioned being happy to be able to draw badass Wes in a new book he's working on. He never said it would center around Wesley.

Yeah, I am guessing he just draws Wes in this spinoff at some point. Wes and Illyria do seem to go hand in hand quite often.

Ethros, I accept Asylum and SP as canon. You don't have to if you don't want. Each to his own.
I'm looking forward to this Illyria story.

It's nice to see Mooney carrying on doing more Angel related things for IDW. Fun.

Hmmm another mini series. Is this really needed? I guess we'll soon see. I'll give it a chance seen as it sounds like it will fill in a few gaps between After The Fall and Aftermath..not expecting much though.

Turns out, no Illyria spin-off, either.
Mooney said, "Um. Crap. I'm not really working on an Illyria mini-series, I just made that title up cos I thought it was kinda funny. I thought it sounded like an obvious joke title, but I guess not. I feel bad.. This image is indeed from one of the three covers to my new book, but it's not really an Illyria-specific tale. My bad. Sorry for re-shitting your day Pat."
