patxshand I like it. It reminds me of the circus. But the whole canonical issue has confused me when it comes to IDW's Angel. I just kinda don't like to think about it anymore, but don't mind people debating about it.

Dark Horse can't use: Cordelia (dragon) Jeremy James Laura Weathermill Betta George Eddie Hope Beck
Is this right? So after the last 'Angel' arc (how many left is there?) 'Spike' (mini series 1-?) and Illyria (mini series, 1-?) That is it, they will forever be in limbo and can't be used?

Well, no one is really saying anything about those characters at the moment. And really, it probably won't be much of an issue by the time IDW's run ends NEXT YEAR! As in, some characters may die, or just step back by the time that happens. OR, the big wigs will sit down with a few brewskies and work out some kinda deal. I understand that we're all curious, but I think we're doing IDW a great injustice by overshadowing what should be their biggest arc since "AtF" with our questions that could very well be answered in due time. IDW isn't done yet. These aren't questions that we know will never ever be answered.

Wasn't Cordy used in an issue of Buffy, though?
Oh well. We'll see.

Well, the dragon was first used in AtS, although not by his name....
So, i think the dragon can be used by DH.

You know what got old a few years ago? The word "canon." So did 'cannon':-)

I hope that their epic final will effect a lot of characters, that will be shown over at Dark Horse.

Why should Shadow Puppets be any less canon than Asylum? @ The Night Lord Anyone can edit Buffy wiki, just like on ordinary wikipedia, so that's not a good source. *grumble grumble* Ya know, that was one the few posts I have where I felt smart and you ruined it for me.

Dark Horse can't use: Cordelia (dragon) Jeremy James Laura Weathermill Betta George Eddie Hope Beck Is this right? Fox owns all those characters because they were created for a comic licensed by them. Technically, those comics were "work for hire" by IDW on behalf of Fox. The comics and everything in them belong to Fox. That means they can be used in season 9 if a) Fox gives permission, and b) Joss wants to use them, and c) Fox and IDW haven't come to some separate deal regarding them. Chris Ryall in his Q&A seemed to hint that there might be some kind of deal in the works that would allow them to continue doing the Spike series even after the license moves, and he also seemed to think the status of those original IDW characters wasn't cut-and-dried yet. But I don't know what he's referring to. I think it would be interesting if a special deal was struck that would allow the Spike series to continue under the IDW imprint, but as part of season 8... written by Lynch, illustrated by Urru, edited by Allie under Whedon's supervision.

^^ No it didn't. Discussions of canon are central to almost all comic books, not just Buffy and Angel.

Nope.
I've never seen any other fandom as obsessed with the word and concept.

Nope. I've never seen any other fandom as obsessed with the word and concept. Then you've certainly never spent any time on the DC Batman message boards.

That's good to know AC, If we do get more 'Spike' over at DH Beck and Cordelia (dragon), Jeremy and Betta George could be back. With Laura Weathermill in the main title. (if she/they make it or if needed.)

I honestly don't see DH worrying themselves much with including newer Angel characters (George/Weathermill) or side characters (Gwen/Nina). I think Angel's new book will focus on the core remaining characters, with at most a possibly few appearances by some side characters from the show.

Yeah, I see that too... a cameo wouldn't hurt if needed.

I expect to see Angel (duh), Connor, Illyria, Gunn, and maybe Ghost-Wesley, Ghost Cordy, and possibly Lorne. Add in Harmony and Drusilla and Angel's got a decent-sized supporting cast.

Well, I bet James, Laura and Eddie will be killed off or written out. With Angel, Connor, Illyria, Gunn and Spike being the core 5.

I actually like Laura and Eddie out of the bunch. And if I only got to pick one IDW Angel ongoing original character, I'd pick Laura. (Just lose the pet rock)
