I'd like Dark Horse's Angel Investigations to consist of Angel, Connor, Kate, Illyria, and Gunn. I'd like Laura to stick around as well, if they can sort out the rights issues.
Spike should have his own series, preferably with the same crew from Brian's book.

Who's Laura? She must be a Willingham creation (I dropped the book after I read his letter to Joss).
I hope Kate sticks around too--they need another human in the bunch.

I think I may have misunderstood the meaning of the term "canon" itself as it applies to Buffyverse. I thought it was synonymous with Joss!canon(?), which I thought meant Joss's version/vision of events and characters. Anyway, as long as Joss is involved I'm more interested in this than I am in canon and the raw facts on how he views his creation is more important to me than terminologies.
In DC Comics terms, I see it more in the way Alan Moore sees Watchmen and Watchmen: The End is Nigh. (And, to some extent, his Vertigo titles.) Canon only matters if I'm reading an actual DCU title.

You know what got old a few years ago? The word "canon." You know what also got old a few years ago? People complaining about people who discuss canon. If you don't want to take part in the discussion, you don't have to. patxshand I like it. It reminds me of the circus. That's... flattering. Why should Shadow Puppets be any less canon than Asylum? @ The Night Lord Anyone can edit Buffy wiki, just like on ordinary wikipedia, so that's not a good source. *grumble grumble* Ya know, that was one the few posts I have where I felt smart and you ruined it for me. There, there. You know I love you, Nightie.

Chris Ryall speaks to io9 HERE. Nothing new, I don't think. Or at least, nothing struck me as new. But I guess if anyone's a completist out there, you'll be wanting this to file away.

^^ Thanks, Xi. Bookmarked and scrapbooked.
Welcome to the forums, janas.
[Clearing. Buffy turns around. She's startled to see Connor there.] Hm, sneaky! Learned it from my father. Some say he was the best. Gasp.

I'm hoping the deluxe AtF collection features all the bonus features and covers from the initial collections...it would be nice to have everything in one place.
Now I just have to unload my singles onto a friend before this collection comes out and I'm all set!

I'm sure I'll get the complete HC as well. I can't wait to see it! I need to check out IDW's other oversized HC's so I can get an idea about how big it will be.
I wonder if it will have a new cover? I'm sure it will.

I hope it will have new extras as well. Bad for those who have bought all the single HCs and don't want to "waste" money on the complete HC, but great for me, since I want to buy all singles, TPBs, and HCs.
It makes sense that they would add extras, doesn't it, since that would make more people buy it? Otherwise, people might just stick to the single HCs.

I am a sad sad man:) I can't justify buying something I already have a copy of unless I somehow give away/sell the original item(s) first. I don't like to buy the same thing twice (or more) even though in this case the format is slightly different. Yes, that's me rationalizing.

No, I think there's a market out there for people who want the entire AtF series collected together rather than spread throughout three or four separate hardcovers. However, I do think there will be some sort of new bonus material to attract collectors who may have already purchased the original hardcovers. I am the type of person who bought the singles but held out on buying the hardcovers because I knew a fully-collected edition would come out eventually. Same with Buffy---I bought the singles but I'm waiting for the hardcovers rather than collecting the trades.

I just buy the singles cuz I'm impatient and want the comic now. Plus, pretty covers, though I am thinking about perhaps buying the HCs one day. But, I kinda don't wanna *sniff* I'm confused

I think it's very reasonable to buy atleast two issues of your (favorite) comics. Because one day, you'll damage them somehow. That's part of my excuse anyway.

Can't say that I'm happy with this news. I just hope that they don't try to retcon After The Fall.

They wouldn't be trying to make both continuities mesh if they were just going to retcon all of IDW's work thus far.
