I think at some point though Oz might have seen what the magic was doing to her and would have had the same thoughts that Tara did. I'm not sure about that. Willow didn't really exhibit any outward signs of trouble until after Tara left; someone less knowledgeable about magic than Tara might not have recognized the danger.

But Oz was always hesitant about Willow's advancement. He always wanted her to be safe and I think he would notice pretty quick when she started using too much.

Maybe, however at one point in season 4 Oz did mention to Willow that he did worry about her doing magic and whatnot, but you have a valid point.

That question about Dollhouse probably belongs elsewhere on this board, but it's a good one. You might think of it as a question the series didn't have time to explore. There should've been a third or fourth season.
Giles-Xander, thinking about that. Maybe that's an opportunity the show missed. That relationship could've been developed, especially if Xander had been allowed to grow up. There's another thread about season 6 where this comes up. Although I like season 6, I do think it was a mistake to have Xander leave Anya at the altar.

Okay, you convinced me. It was a tradeoff, but the producers were right to make Joyce a sympathetic character.
Oz vs. Tara. Never thought of that before. Oz seems to slip into the Scooby gang very easily, and then leave being little missed, except by Willow. His "Scoobiness" credentials aren't so firm somehow. Does anybody else feel he was a sort of secondary Scooby, maybe like Cordelia?
Tara on the other hand, she went through a process to work her way in, but when she did get in, she was in all the way. They thought that out better than they did with Oz.
Maybe this is another question, but how do you think Buffy's surrogate family compares to others you may know of, fictional or real-life? The fictionals would include the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. The real ones? Surely you've all observed "family-type group friendships," particularly in residential colleges. Some of you may have belonged to one of these groupings.

I think overall, pushing the whole vampire slayer lifestyle aside, she had more or less an average family. Mother, one younger sister, and the father up and left. When she wasn't worrying about saving the world, she was worrying about what every other female her age would worry about, men, sex, work, money, the usuals. I think she had a more or less normal family, if I said that right at all
