As I've said before, as much as I am LOVING season 8, I would be fine with them non-canonizing the comics for a movie. And also like I said before, what if they were to make a trilogy that lasted for 3 years? 3 movies = 6 hours = 8 episodes. Lots of story telling. And the comics could just be a nice story like "Queen Of The Slayers" was (which btw was a fantastic read!) Just my opinion. I think I'm in the minority. You have to admit that the chance for a Buffy movie with the whole cast! I just couldn't turn it down either way. In fact, I'd rather them non-canonize season 8 for a movie to be honest. Although, at this present time, I'm still considering season 8 as canon just like everyone else. For now anyway.

It is my firm belief that any sort of Buffy film endeavor, SHOULD be a trilogy. Do it LOTR style and film 'em all at once I say!
Sarah and Seth Green seem keen on it from the latest video I found (as long as it's done right).
Guess people are gonna see how well the Sex and the City film does. I am waiting with baited breath for that as well btw.

How would you all feel if Aly wasn't a part of the movie (or her role was diminished) because of How I Met Your Mother? Total hate. Period. I am sure they would find a way to work it out though. A Buffy film (trilogy) simply would not work without Willow/Alyson Hannigan. The same can be said for the other regulars from the show.

There couldn't be a movie without Aly. The End

Yeah, we'd totally have to picket. lol I'd be right there with ya. Willow is one of my faves as it is. I don't even think we get enough of her in the comic!

Would Alyson even care about doing it? Wasn't she supposed to be at the meet thing? I think Buffy could exist without Willow. It'd be odd though.

Let's not be too uncharitable to Alyson -- doesn't her in-production sitcom get her the benefit of the doubt?
I remember the kinds of comments I would see about Sarah when this thing was announced, all completely contradicted when she announced she was going to be there.
I think a movie is so unlikely that I wish Joss hadn't made those comments about the comic, because it's so completely academic. Instead, it's had the dual effect of getting people to question the comics and get hoping for a movie that only exists in the hypothetical.

Yeah I agree with that too. For as much as I hope for a film someday, I know that Season 8 is a definite. And I love the comics so much! It's fine to dream and stuff, but people do need to realize that the things the actors say are merely that - words. Nothing more.
I wish that Joss hadn't said that he'd throw the comics out the window if the opportunity for films arose. It makes the comic a little less shiny to me, but I chalk it up to Joss simply loving filmed works better than comic works. He probably would prefer doing a new television show or a film if it were "a perfect world".
Ah well.....GRR ARRG-ME-LOVE-COMIC-BOOK! ;D
PS - I'm sure both Alyson and Eliza have perfectly respectable reasons for not being there. C'mon, they've been to numerous Buffy events/appearances/cons. I have met Eliza twice, and she has always been gracious and amazing. It's called being a working actor. They are busy people.

If Joss were to do a movie,it wouldn't be out for a year or two.Maybe he could do season 8,have the movie come out,and not do the season 9 comic[the movie could be season 9]

If a movie came along and they said to scrap the comics i wouldn't like it one bit. Id rather have the comics then a movie if it meant scraping the comics :\ Buffy isn't just about the actors its about the writing and the story's. To say you would forget the comics for a movie is just like saying you only watch it because of the actors and not because of the story lines. It would be like your buying into the advertisement. Like when you see a book some where and just because say Joss said the book was amazing you would buy it not caring about the story your just getting it because Joss said so..
If they made a movie cannon with season 8 id be happy with that.

I absolutely agree...if he had to say it would be cool to do a buffy movie, i wish he hadn't said he would throw the comics out the window. If a movie became a solid option, then i'd be ok with maybe maybe redirecting the story from the comics, but its all hypothetical now so its just throwing doubt on what we have. We have the comics NOW and I like the canon aspect. And i love your banner and avatar (i love that pic, clearly

Wow that video is rather interesting. Just Sarah acknowledging that they were going to keep an eye on Sex and the City means that there has at least been some discussion about a movie. Really interesting tidbit there.

Joss needs to hire me for continuity He could easily get around the canon thing by making a movie or Buffy project a sequel or prequel to season eight. And I'm sure Ally would sign up for a movie! But yeah you think someone would have had her number to say 'hey why aren't you coming?' I was looking forward to seeing Ally more then Eliza..

I actually would kind of rather see Joss focus his movie-making skills elsewhere. We're already getting more Buffy then we bargained for, even after the excellent and satisfying finale. I think I would prefer to see another Firefly movie, or, since that seems immensely unlikely, an entirely new addition to the Jossverse.
Not that I would say no to a Buffy movie if it was really well done.

A Buffy movie would be amazing. It seems unlikely right now, but having heard what SMG said about SITS, which is a disgusting acronym when you think about it, I'm beginning to hope against hope that we have a chance. But if they're going to do it, they need to do it ASAP before Angel and Spike look too human.
