... im sure that SA people would put you up. I know I would. That would be awesome! The slay alive tour lol. Just find the older crowd that have their own places and would be willing to put you up. Then all you really have to pay for is transportation.

I lived in a really beautiful town in Italy for a month last year. The town is called Viterbo, it is about an hour north of Rome, and it has an incredibly rich history. The main town is encircled by a large stone wall, it is one of many fortress towns in the area, and half of the town is Mideval. There are about 20 churches just within the wall. It is where the popes used to live until the Vatican was built. I loved staying there, so if you are interested in visiting somewhere that is off of the basic tourist radar, I highly reccomend it. I have also been to Florence, Venice, Rome, Pompeii. All of them were gorgeous as well, especially Venice. Italy is the only other country I have been to besides the US, so if you have any questions at all about Italy, I will be happy to answer them!

When I was 15 my family and I went to India. We visited Mumbai (Bombay) where I was born, New Delhi where my mum grew up, Calcutta where my dad grew up and Sikkum, this tiny place just up the border near Napal. I don’t remember a whole lot about that trip, just the feeling of being completely overwhelmed by the complete change of culture as well as the poverty.
My second overseas trip was a few years back (2007). I went with my family to Europe and it was one of the best experiences of my life. We were only there for three and a half weeks and we did London, Paris, Venice, Florence and Rome.
I absolutely fell in love with Paris (as most people do) and I also got addicted to London. Venice was beautiful (expensive though). Wasn't a massive fan of Florence. But the city that stole my heart utterly and completely was Rome. Oh my GOD, I wanted to convert to Catholicism and move into Vatican City. Absolutely gorgeous, plus the atmosphere of the city is so wonderful. I never wanted to leave.
I think everyone’s should travel overseas several times in their life, it’s such a great experience. I’m determined to go back to Europe, there are still so many places I want to see.

New York is amazing. LA is kind of not (in my opinion) and Boston is pretty chill. And chilly. Orange County is fun, except for when you're flying out of the OC air port and then you want to never have children 'cause all the parents coming home from disneyland are ignoring their exhausted, hyped up, cranky spoiled monsters. >.> Long Beach rocks the indie vibe too, the pike is nice.

I've hardly ever heard something like that. I was in Paris several times and I always loved it. It's such an amazing city ... I'm quite the traveler, having been all over Europe and several places in the US. Three years ago I was in Palm Springs to attend the Dinah Shore weekend, which I had seen on the L-Word

I was quite surprised when she told me that, cuz I had always heard of Paris being 'the city of love' and she said it was dirty and unclean. Something along that affect. To which I mentioned something about condoms and got an evil glare

In case you happen to go to Sweden, you can stay in my small one room apartment, lol.
But I think taking a road trip through the US sounds great. Otherwise, backpacking through Europe, using cheap train rides sounds like a neat idea.

Sounds like that horror movie that came out a few years ago. About a bunch of kids getting massacred in the Australian outback.

Don't forget about the numerous poisonous creatures (8 out of the 10 most venomous snakes, not to mention the spiders) and aprox. 2000 poisonous plants... even their waters arn't safe with the platypuses. Wow I never realized how much I really don't want to go to Australia. No offence ment to anyone that lives there of course. It looks pretty in the pictures.

Been to Australia twice... beautiful place. Loved the touristy vibe of Cairns, the Great Barrier Reef is ridiculous, Gold Coast was a ton of fun... the inner kid in me loves amusement parks, Sydney was scenic, but I was too young to fully appreciate it when I was there (I was 9). Don't remember much about Melbourne (despite having been there twice), but I think it's probably because I was staying with an aunt, and she lives in the suburbs. But they did have a kick-ass toy store... so freakin' big... at least that's how I remember it from when I was 9. Oh, and there are some disgustingly beautiful people there. I fell in love with a guy's hands. Just saw them from afar, and I was in love with his hands. He was cute, but those hands... Oh... and kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, wombats, all cuddly. Kinda. And delicious lamb everywhere.

i dont know why but a road trip through the US sounds like the most boring thing ever to me. Guess I've just had to drive from one end of california to the other too many times. "oh hey look, some cows. look some more cows. and there's some other big mountain with dead grass" no thanks.

I've never been out of the states. One time I went from Kentucky to Charleston, S. Carolina to Alexandria, Virginia to Washington D.C then New York and then back home in Kentucky. It was great. My mom had just had my baby sister and we had to show her off. First to my mom side of the family in South Carolina and then to My baby sisters dad side of the family in Virgina and D.C. And we took advantage of New York being a couple of hours away from D.C. My mom was like a kid showing me her old neighborhood. It was beautiful everywhere. I spent a lot of time on the beach and sight seeing. I loved it. There was only one bad thing. We drove the entire time. We have always drove ourselves and it was always fine, but this particular time it was horrible on the rode. Why? 4 people and a baby in a PT Cruiser. Why the hell my mom rented that car I will never know.

I have never travelled anywhere, apart from moving from Wales to England, and a weeks holiday in New York A few of my friends have done the Australia/New Zealand backpacking thing when they left College or University and loved the experience. I never though I wanted to travel and have only ever been abroad twice (school exchange trip in Germany when I was 14 for less than a week, and a week in New York when I was 17) but lately I have been tempted by visiting a few places in Europe. I think if you want to travel and get the chance you should definitely do it as you may regret it when you get older.
