I'm just interested on how exactly people collect their issues of Season 8. I like to wait until the issues have been collected into a TPB, as you can read the whole story without having to wait a month for the next part of the story.

I purchase a bagged and boarded copy of each cover, and then one copy of the most common cover (50/50 or better) that's my "handle" copy -- to read and to use for writing the issue transcripts. But I haven't been purchasing the TPBs since there aren't any "extras".

What sort of extras are there with the single issues? I didn't know there was any!

Well, there aren't. But with no extras in the TPB, there's no real incentive to buy, in most cases, my 3rd or 4th copy of each issue

Oh I see. Well I don't collect each and every alternate cover (I guess it would cost a lot), so when they are all printed in the TPB that's sort of like a little extra

If I had just a tiny bit more money, I would buy the alternate covers. But I don't. So I buy my favorite cover every month, bagged and boarded.

I buy each issue in the painted covers, but don't bother with the alternative ones
Then I get the TPB's (well, theres only one so far) as its nice to have the issues without all the bloody ads in between every other page!
And plus the alt covers are collected in the TPBs too

I do the same. I buy each issue as they come out, bagged and boarded. I usually only read them once or twice, depending on the amount of discrepencies on the discussion board. Then I buy the TPB's so I can read the entire arc without shuffling through bags, trying to be careful, lol. It's a whole different experience reading it consecutively.

I get each separate issue plus the variant. I buy both because my comic book store will only sell variants to people who buy the regular version every month as well...so I just get both. I also get the TPB because I like to have each arc to read without, as onemoretouch said, suffling through bags. As far as my collection goes I really like the TPBs because they look nicer on a shelf and are easier to read through....but I enjoy having all the separate ones with variants for now...I might sell a set of them later on as I get the TPBs.

I chose the first option (just one copy of each issue), but I'm finally getting used to Jeanty's style, so I think when "Angel" comes out next week, I'm gonna pick up the variants of #'s 11 and 12, too, then work backward and get the first 10 Jeantys, little by little, and start buying both versions beginning next month. Jo Chen's covers for the next arc should be amazing, but I'm really hoping Karl Moline does the variants, in which case I definitely want both. ;D
I'll also be getting each TPB as it comes out, for the convenience of having several issues under one cover, without any annoying, distracting ads...

I just buy the issues separately as they come out. This is because it's such a long wait between each TPB. Also, I like the discussion and speculation. Waiting for the TPB, you wouldn't be able to discuss each new issue when it's first released. I might give in and buy the TPB's one day as they are cool. Or I might wait until the whole of season 8 is released in one big TPB as we know it's coming. Then I'll sell my single issues. But for now, single issues it is.

Oh my sweet merciful Zeus, that would be a very long wait! What 4 or 5 years? It depends on whether there's going to be a strong division or not; forty comics is a hell of a lot to package together as one single volume, so there might be a 20-20 split, like they did with volume two of Runaways. I hope the season eight omnibus comes with extras, though. And a shiny, shiny cover. As for myself, I buy the regular cover every month; because I started with the regulars, and changing over now would make my spine itch. I do think Jeanty's covers have improved, but his artwork is still too cartoon-ish for me. I keep them boarded in a little comic book file. MB x

I buy the regular covers..., and they all go in my bottom draw of my bedside table, along with the angel ones.

I buy each issue from TFAW as they are released, but I don't mind which cover I get so I don't buy 4 of each issue to guarantee I get each cover. I've decided to skip the TPB's so that I can save some money.
I hope once all 40ish issues are out that they will release a nice hardcover edition of Season 8 that collects every issue, every cover, and some extras like art concepts and stuff like that. I'll buy that in a second.

I'm too impatient so I buy each individual issue. And I don't really care about the covers, so I buy whatever my comic store has. I will, however, buy a Season 8 Omnibus if they release one.

I bought both covers for a while... Until Angel ATF came out...now I just buy the painted-looking cover now. It's enough for me...the alternative cover want/need has lost my interest (which saves me some $$$!)
