I normally just buy the Jo covers issues but if my comic shop gives me the George cover issues i end up going to forbidden planet to buy the Jo ones so varies.

I just buy the regular covers and TPB's. I haven't been impressed with any of the alt. covers, except the Giles/Faith one!

A few months after an arc has been released as seperate issues, it's collected into a tradepaper back and released. Only Vol 1 of Season 8 has been released so far and that collects 'The Long Way Home' and 'The Chain'. In June, 'No Future For You' and 'Anywhere But Here' are released in a new TPB, and sometime after that, I guess 'A Beautiful Sunset' and 'Wolves At The Gate' will be released, probably early next year. A full collection of Season 8 will be released, but that's years away!
Vol 1: Long Way Home TPB = 'Long Way Home' and 'The Chain' Vol 2: No Future For You TPB = 'No Future For You' and 'Anywhere But Here' Vol 3: Wolves At The Gate TPB = 'A Beautiful Sunset' and 'Wolves At The Gate'

I have all the first editions, original and variants... I didn't mean to keep this up, but I just can't stop! Also buy the TPBs, easier then reading from issue to issue if I'm looking at an old one.

i buy the single issue, and prolly will pick up the italian TBP as well (when they come out here). i like to keep the issue right next to the Buffy's dvd sets, and issue #1 is immediately after Buffy s.7 - i like to think at the comics as s.8-in-construction. My nerdy points just sky-rocketed after this, right?

it does! My DH Buffy comics (the origianl series) are behind the dvd sets, mainly cos they're all TBP, non-canon and in italian (lol). Plus in Italy we're halfway through the series, they have yet to publish the whole series, so it's not even complete.
I'm planning to put my Angel ATF comics right next to my s.5 boxset. it'd be GREAT if DH released a s.8 omnibus in shape of a dvd box set {I can't control my inner-nerd sometimes, i apologise lol}

I wouldn't mind the 20-20 split. Especially as Issue #20 is due to be a standalone so it's not like it would be jumping between omnibuses in the middle of an arc. Sounds like a good idea actually. After Issue #20 is released they should release the first volume. I'd buy that then wait for the second volume. I am however buying the single issues when they are released at the moment.

I'm on sub-service at the local comic store. They pull the new issues as they come in both covers if possible. I have all the covers except one issue that actually had 3 covers.

I'm a TPB only kinda guy. Single comics are over way too quickly for me so I prefer to wait for the trades. I'll read the single issues if I can get my hands on them via a friend but otherwise I'm happy to wait until the TPB arrives.
Regarding the talk on trade collections, I know that there is already a limited number of hardcover copies of Long Way Home produced but are there any plans to make them more available? I'd be willing to play twice the usual price for the trades if they were a little more durable.
Either that or hardcover versions of larger collections. Say, the first 12 to 15 issues?

I just buy the regular cover, I don't see a point in spending more money by buying the variants also just for 1 different thing.

I collect the single issues. Usually though if I start to fall behind and I can't find the issues I'll just wait for the Trade Paper Back to come out, but otherwise I like to keep up to date and get the single issues when they first come out. As for collecting the variant covers as well? Well I only do that if the variant cover is one that I really! like.
