Hmm that's interesting. Might mean nothing... or something. I guess if Fox wont release the Buffy characters to Universal to make a movie maybe they needed this? Yeah I don't know, just talking out of my butt really.

I don't know what to say. If they did make a movie for Buffy Season 8. it would be sweet but i think it would be a straight-to-dvd movie. Maybe that's the big news in July they're talking about! But it's very unlikely though, they would have to round up Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan, Michelle Tratchenburg, Anthony Stewart Head, Eliza Dushku, Tom Lenk, Elizabith Anne Allen, Adam Busch, Robin Sachs, and D.B. Woodside. That's quite a big list, and that's why it wouldn't happen. I think if Joss had the chance to get all of those people he would do it, but still they have lives. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Anthony Stewart Head, Eliza Dushku, and Joss are all busy on other projects. BUT, if they did make a few movies that covered up season 8, I would cry tears of happiness. I would jump and smile and laugh and giggle. Wow. That would make me soooooooo happy.

There are a lot of movies in the works featuring Dark Horse characters. I don't think this really has anything to do with Buffy (at least not right now).

Fray as a motion picture would kick some serious ass. While I still have hope for a Buffy movie SOMEDAY, I think a Fray movie would make a lot more sense. I hope something Joss comes out of this! |

I wouldn't even want them to turn S8 into a movie. For one thing, even a series of movies wouldn't be enough to tell the whole story without having to cut it way down and lose a lot of stuff. For another, I'd rather see them tell new "Buffy" stories, than just adapt a story that's already been done...

Don't get me wrong, I would welcome a Buffy movie, but I don't think the news guarnantees that anything Buffy related is going to happen. It might clear the path for it in the future, but even then, a lot of things have to happen.

Can't see this having anything to do with Buffy or Serenity. Dark Horse wouldn't need to be involved for those movies to go ahead. Besides, DH have plenty of characters with far less complicated ownership issues to make movies out of. Nice thought, though.

Buffy animated has been batted around before. Maybe something season 8 animated could get off the ground!

With it being Dark Horse, I wouldn't even mind a Goon movie, to be honest. I've always enjoyed the quality that DH puts out there in their comics, so it was no surprise that they'd do the S8 of Buffy!

As previously stated, the ownership issues would probably be far too complicated for Dark Horse to even wanna' dirty their hands with a Buffy film project. 'specially considering the fact that Fox isn't always cuddly when giving over the rights to potential money-makers. (IE: Firefly's TV rights)
I'd love for them to produce a concrete movie.

I wouldn't like there to be a Buffy movie i don't think. The reason the first movie failed is because Buffy best works as a story made over time not just throw into a hour and half movie. Unless it was a stand alone episode like movie id be alright with it.
First thing i though about was Fray and Serenity 2... id welcome both ideas.

Joss has said it his self that a reason Buffy movie failed is because its a story you can tell in a hour or whatever time. Its something that grows over time. Like is Joss turned season one into a movie it would not have worked even if you took the stand alone episodes etc with every season. They only worked because they where told over time. |
