The YA novel Hero by Perry Moore tells the story about a teenage boy who's father is a world famous super hero that has fallen from grace in a world that has lost it's trust in super heroes. He is also gay.
This is one of THE BEST BOOKS I have ever read and I think the story about a gay teen struggling for his fathers acceptance as well as acceptance from the world around him is a very topical story that could be a really excellent tool in helping young kids understand that it really does GET BETTER!
