Asthma?

Hey all. So, today, I started doing cardio-vascular exercises again (I stopped and did Pilates for awhile), and I've noticed that, after running for a few minutes, I start to get this really tight pain in my throat, like my throat is like inflaming or contracting or something... I've noticed it before, but it hasn't been this bad... My aunt suggests I could have asthma... What do you think..? Does anyone here actually have asthma? Thanks, GaGa~Vampyr

I used to say I had it in school to get out of P.E...but it wasn't very severe at all.
When I started running for the first time I had a lot of trouble breathing but after a couple weeks it got easier. I haven't gone for a run in a long time so if I did it now I'd probably be a wheezing mess. Probably would be smart to get tested for it by your doctor before starting your work out program just to be on the safe side.

Do you ever notice a weeze?
Do you end up gasping for breath?
When doing your exercises is it cold?
Is the room your in changing tempatures? (hot room to cold air or cold room to hot room?)

Well I always run outside, usually in the Park. And it's cold in November in NY, so, yeah, it's cold. Could that have something to do with it?

Could be the cold, dehydration, or if you haven't been excercising for a while you could just be working too hard on yourself.

I have asthma and have had since I was really little. I used to be really sick with it when I was little, in and out of hospital all the time but now I forget I have it at all (as long as I remember to take my medication!)
I never noticed pains in my throat so much, it was always tightening of my chest. It could be cold air or working too hard, but I would visit your doctor and find out for sure so you can get any help you need.
