One small problem I had with this issue (and it was incredibly small) was that the spell Giles used against Roden was almost the exact same as the one Willow used to teleport Buffy. Did anyone else notice that? I noticed this too but it wasn't EXACTLY the same so that's OK.

Well...it is highly unlikely but it would be cool if Twilight was Xander. He lost his girlfriend, his eye,his hometown due to the whole Buffy/magic thing..He might want to get rid of magic. But i don't think Joss will make him evil.
Btw,No Future For You was great.Thank you so much Brian K.Vaughan!

I'm pretty sure it's not Xander, partly because I don't think he has it in him to go bad (EVER) and partly because we saw him almsot simaltaneously with Twilight's floating boots in issue one (although if he somehow became magical enough to fly, he could theoretically be in two places at once). Also, I think Willow could probably tell if someone really magic was that close to her all the time. Maybe Clem is twilight for some reason. That would be an epic plot twist.

Did anyone remember in issue six Genevieve said after killing the other Slayer to Roden "Now give me what's mine..." or something like that. Does anyone have any ideas as to what she was referring to?
I wanted to get some other perspectives on Faith killing Genevieve. How did everyone feel about Faith killing Geneveive?

Thats interesting about what Gigi said in part 1. Well Faith was sent to kill Gigi in the first place and she didnt show any signs of wanting to listen to Faith even though she had been misled. I feel a a little sorry for Gigi because she was misled by Roden. It was Twilights plan to have Faith kill Gigi and Roden so he got what he wanted. Faith did feel bad though.

I'm interested in seeing more of the Faith and Giles partnership. It's really cool. But, Buffy really needs to get over Faith's past, it's been years. But, I guess i kinda understand where Buffy is coming from when she gets pissed at Giles. But, I think it's kinda rebound-ish that Giles is trying to get Faith to take Buffy's place in his life.
Buffy needs a good slap in the face, and one that will actually hurt her. I think she holds the biggest grudge on Faith, because she was basically like a sister to her, before she just completely screwed her over. But, still Angel and SPike and even Willow, who tried to kill her have done worse things.
And, I like the idea of Giles and Faith teaming up.
But, I wonder what this Twilight guy wants. :jump:

Buffy has a right to still not trust Faith or ever trust her really. Faith i feel did worst to Buffy then Angel or Spike ever did. And i don't really think Buffy would hold anything against Willow because she wasn't really against Buffy she was out for the Trio more then anything. Faith tried to kill Buffy, hurt her friends, her mother. She switched her body's, she tried to take her life because her own was too screwed to fix. Faith turned her back on Buffy when she was trying to help her. Buffy has a right to still be pissed with her. I'm not too much looking forward to seeing Giles and Faiths partnership. The last panel with them kinda Ew-ed me out. Maybe its just a dirty mind but it sounded wrong. *shudders* I'm not happy with the way Giles just pushed Buffy off, i think she has a right to know if her life (again) is on the line. Makes me wounder if theres more to it, i dunno what it would have hurt letting Buffy know about it.

well i guess your right about the Buffy & Faith thing. But, didn't they settle their problems in like, End of Days? I'm not saying Buffy completely got over what she did, but still, it seemed that she just let it go.

I dunno. I think with the big battle a coming she kinda had to put everything behind her. She said the same to Robin with his beef with Spike so i guess she went by the same rule.

She's totally holding a grudge. Buffy plain doesn't like Faith. It's petty, but it's human. It did look as though she got over it in season, but it looked like the tension between Giles and Buffy was gone too.

It might just be me... but it seems like in the comics so far that their all losing sight of "the mission". like Giles sending Faith to kill Gigi, before they would have tried everything they could, only killing as a last resort. and with Twilight their planing on killing humans, and before they had guilt tripped Willow and Faith about it. and for Faith it was an accident. it just doesn't seem right.

yeah, but still they gave Faith a hard time. and her killing the deputy mayer was an accident.

Well, I kinda got used to the fact that I was reading FtVS and not BtVS . I mean, we hardly saw Buffy in this issue and it will be wierd to get back to the Scoobies (but necessary, of course!). Still makes me longing for a Faith comic spin-off, though... The scene when Buffy realizes that Giles doesn't want her to know about his decisions was one of the best scenes ever. I got goosebumps by just looking at Buffy's facial expression. And I'm really going to miss Roden... I know he was all kind of a badass but he friggin' rocked. I wanted a Willow/Roden battle, damn it .

yeah, but still they gave Faith a hard time. and her killing the deputy mayer was an accident. It wasn't so much her just killing the Dep Mayor it was how she acted after it. Willow was over took by the magic and grief so really it wasn't really her it was the magic. Faith didn't have any excuse she turned to the dark side it was her own bidding.

What I'm trying to say is the Scoobies are loosing sight of what the Angel crew would call "the mission".

Buffy and friends haven't been anywhere neat "the mission" most of the time for the last several seasons. It kind of goes on and off.

Finally got this today Got the cool variant cover, Jo one coming soon. Wasn't actually that impressed.. prolly my least favourite issue from the Faith arc. It was good, but I suppose I was just really bothered by the split between Buffy and Giles.. and even Buffy and Faith. I was hoping there would be a reconciliation of some kind, but we're just back to where we were and now Giles is distancing himself from Buffy. I can sort of understand why.. if he thinks the darker sides of the job need to be done, and would rather not have Buffy killing humans? Or he's just hiding his own dark self from her. Maybe something happened between now and Chosen... either way I don't like being annoyed at Giles. Twilight looks interesting, the storyline resembles season 4s a little. The whole magic vs military kinda thing. Still don't quite understand his motives.. he doesn't look too normal himself. Guess I should read it a few more times, might start to like it more. Oh, and I hope the mole is Renee! Free up for some Bander action And I forgot to mention that I liked how Faith was projecting on Gigi during their fight. Like when she says 'because you know you haven't done anything to deserve it' - being treated as a friend. Sounds like Faith is talking about herself and her experiences with the Mayor 'maybe he does - maybe he don't' - really care about her. Owh and also happy that the next issue is a little longer then usual

How long is the next issue? I haven't heard? Also, I hope the Twilight thing goes a long time. Cuz' there's the Twilight issue, and then they just go to the Tokyo arc. But, I also hope tis big bad isn't a rerun, if youi know what i mean. but knowing Joss it's not gonna be.

Scott Allie says the next issue is 25 pages. And regular issues are 22 (although this one was 24 pages).

I think Twilight will be around for a good few more arcs before he gets killed as just about everyone that goes up against The Scoobys end up.
I don't think its really Magic there set against its the Slayer really. I mean Twilight doesn't look all the human and if he was he wouldn't last two seconds with Buffy in a fight so theres gotta be magic behind it plus Amy and Warren where helping the army for a while. And they'r Magic R us.
