As a San Diegan, and as the admin of the forum I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that it is a possibility that I may be evacuated out of my home and possibly my city. So if that happens I will not be able to be online for an indefinite amount of time!
I'll keep everyone updated, but as of now...I can see a gargantuan plume of red smoke and bright light on the other side of a mountain near my apartment!! It's lighting up the night sky!

I wish you the best of luck and hope that everything is going to be alright.
I spent most of yesterday watching it on the news and it's completely scary.

I live in San Marcos / North County, about 30 minutes north of Central San Diego. There was a huge fire here in San Marcos on Sunday night. It was insane! I was getting ready to go to bed at about 1am, opened my blinds, and saw THIS! I got my dad and Meghan out of bed and at about 2am, a couple police drove through our complex with loud speakers, telling everyone to evacuate. We had to go over to my grandparents' house but came back here around noon that same day. San Marcos is no longer in any immediate danger but I'm praying very hard for all the areas around us. This is what it currently looks like:

The pics are spot on. It looks worse than that where I live (East County SD)...right near Mt. San Miguel.
Last night the fire and embers were so extreme it looked like a volcano.
