Wasn't Firefly taken off the air around the same time that season seven of Buffy was in production? I'd always assumed that's why Joss brought Nathan Fillion onto Buffy and Gina Torres onto season four of Angel; that it was real world issues that kind of fudged the story towards the end of both seasons. I've been wrong before, though. Yep, Buffy 7, Angel 4 and Firefly 1 all started airing in Fall 2002, with Firefly's last ep airing in December. So yes that's why Fillion & Torres were given roles on Buffy & Angel later on And Adam Baldwin (Jayne) the next season on Angel 5

I finally bought and read the issue yesterday and I have to say it is one of the better ones s far. I was just going to wait until tpb form in case I was disappointed but my bookstore eerily enough had one issue just laying on the counter next to me. I was glad Joss didn't kill Satsu, the whole scene kind of reminded me of Caleb in Dirty Girls. Except no neck snappage or stabbage.
Being alone as been a theme of Buffy since the start. Especially for her character. I believe we've at least made connections that all previous Slayers feel like that sooner or later. Being a slayer your not exactly human but your not exactly demon either. You spend your daylight hours moving among the world just trying knowing that soon as night falls your all professional killer. Which is one of the base roots of what being a slayer intails. It's lonely, damaging, and draws you inward after a while.
I agree with the previous posts that with all the other girls being called all at once they get this feeling. It might be hard to feel sometimes but it's there. Buffy was called during the original one gal in the world line. She can lead them but she can't connect with them. It reminds me of when she and Faith had that talk and Faith surmised that she and B couldn't get along was because they weren't supposed to exist together. I believe Faith might also feel the same way around the new girls but to a less extent since she's all lone ranger. I think Buffy and Kendra would have had similar issues had Kendra lived.
Twlight though...wow on knocking someone straight through a mausoleum. So the death of magic huh? I guess Season 8 is going to lead to the world of Fray.
I've been thinking so apparently Twilight is someone who knew or knows B. So is he the traitor or is there also another within B's inner circle?

I have a feeling that if riley is indeed twighliht we will all be rewatching As You were for clues, maybe spike was set up by this new initative so Riley and Fake wife Sam could pay her a little visit to check on her. Also Riley must be doing alright as he has the authority to grant buffy whatever she needs in S7 in concerns to spike's chip.

I think it's interesting that all of the other girls have that connection like they belong around eachother, but they have the most difficult time fighting together (see issue 2) and not getting in eachother's way, while Buffy and Kendra and Buffy and Faith didn't usually have that problem. Actually, Season 8 is going to lead to Season 9 and that should lead to Fray. I think the working theory is that it is Buffy herself.

Satsu/Buffy were great in this, the storyline moved on greatly and it was great to see Buffy talking to Satsu about loving her being dangerous. As for Twilight, I really don't want it to be but I do think it's Riley =(

I just posted my review for this issue at the SlayAlive blog. Check it out and leave some love in the coment section if you enjoy it! www.slayaliveblog.blogspot.comYou might want to edit it and put your name as reviewer since it says Phil posted it. That is really odd. I was logged in as myself when i posted it. I guess I will try to repost it and see if it still says Phil. EDITFixed

I thought it was a good issue. I liked the conversation between Buffy and Satsu. Also I'm kinda with most of you that Twilight is Riley.

It's almost so obvious that satsu would die that i'm not sure joss with go for it, it's too cheap you know? I think we will defiantly see something bad happen to her though, just to make buffy go raaawwwwr. Maybe she'll be made Quadriplegic and kill twilight with only the power of her furrowed brow...

I really enjoyed this comic. Buffy is shaping up to be great for the 8th season. Also I really enjoyed the Slay the Critics in this comic. For two reasons. 1.) It was all involving "The Chain" which in my opinion was one of the best of Season 8 so far. and 2.) Can't help but say it but the first comment in the Slay the critcis section was me! It was so cool to actully see my name in a Buffy comic(Even if it didn't have anything to do with the comic itself.) So yeah loved this issue. Can't wait to find out who Twilight is!

Yeah it was a great issue, the dialogue was spot on. There's a lot of focus on who Twilight is, and who the betrayer is and everyone just throws out names like Riley and Xander without stopping to realize how little sense it would make. I've heard some good theories about why Riley might be Twilight but nothing wholeheartedly convincing. I'm pretty 110% that it would never be Xander. I think the Buffy betrays herself somehow is a story I can actually see them going with. One way or another, if Twilight is someone from the past they're really going to have to throw out some very good explanations to make it not seem lame at this point.
And how could you hate Caleb? He was the only menacing villain the show had had in years (well, discounting Willow), if I didn't love Firefly so much I wish that that role had expanded into a season-long run as Caleb was much more effective then the First was in Season 7.

I would love for Twilight to be Riley, I think that would be a cool twist, but in all realism I have to agree that Buffy betraying herself somehow is the most likely scenario.

I'm not sure why the betrayal has to be linked to the identity of Twilight. Buffy may betray herself - that doesn't mean that she is Twilight.
