Illyria being in a hell-dimension. Angel says as much in Issue #4. Vampires have the 'burst into flames' feeling/euphoria and werewolves are in a state between were and human. Illyria is time slipping.

I think it might have something to do with W8H not having full control of what they have done to Los Angeles. Wesley states that other forces are at work. I'm sure that Illyria can take the blame for some of it but not sure if it is all her doing. I think that we have still yet to meet all the players in this new game.

I would say being in a hell dimension, Illyria's powers have been restored.. we saw in Season 5 that her new form couldn't handel the power and would implode, so they stripped her of it . I would say that is what we were seeing.. her powers restored and out of control..but her FORM stronger because they are in a hell dimension so no implosion. Her time powers do offer all sorts of Possibilities though.. could she stop herself from infecting Fred? Save Wesley?

There's definitely some weirdness going on with Illyria. She seems unstable again--powers she had prior to the Mutari Generator are returning, and she's showing emotions, suggesting that perhaps there's more of Fred in there than we thought. I remember reading somewhere that Joss had once planned to somehow separate Fred from Illyria and have both characters on the show. I think that's a silly idea, but the idea that there's some echo(no pun intended) of Fred in there is intriguing, to say the least.
I'm still miffed at Angelcakes for not telling Wes that he'd seen Illyria, and vice versa.

How come Spike has the scythe from season 7 and 8 of Buffy in one scene??

I doubt that the time slips are entirely the result of Illyria's powers going nutso in the hell dimension. Simply because Brian has stated time and again "Angel assumes that it's Illyria causing it, that doesn't mean it necessarily is." Yeah, he could be saying that just to screw with us, but I'm betting there is at least a little more to it. Perhaps it has something to do with why the rest of the world isn't noticing LA's absence. If they've been somehow removed from time, or something along those lines, maybe a demon as attuned to time as Illyria is would get hit with some side effects?

How come Spike has the scythe from season 7 and 8 of Buffy in one scene?? No one really knows yet. I would say it's some kind of time slip and maybe foreshadowing!

It's not Buffy's scythe. Brian Lynch said this one's "more homemade".

Spike made a wannabe Scythe to try to pretend to be part of Buffy's life? I know Spike's love's bitch, but that's a little too pathetic. hehe

How come Spike has the scythe from season 7 and 8 of Buffy in one scene?? I noticed that the other day when I was rereading, and you know what? Those flying cars in the background look awfully familiar too.... I thought for once maybe I'd spotted some foreshadowing when it was still 'fore... I also thought it was Buffy's scythe... But "more homemade?" now I'm stumped. ;D
